Some info. about myself. Don't have to read it.

Hey there, my name is Albert aka espMisio new guy in here, new guy to the SC community, but pretty experienced in eSports overall. I have been writing, doing live LAN events coverage, and pretty much whatever had to be done while working for top notch Polish websites dedicated to electronic sports as well as top writing for top international websites like the old MYM. My whole experience with eSports begun around 8 or 9 years ago, back in the middle school when I was playing Counter Strike 1.5/1.6 on an armature level, but I never managed to accomplish anything big. Around high school I started playing Warcraft 3, and that was also the time I started writing for an old Team Pentagram (currently known as Frag Executors – Counter Strike fans know who am I talking about). Since then a lot has changed. I had an opportunity to work with big names like The1Crow, Editor-in-Chief for mymym.com, Frank ‘Mirhi’ Fields whom you might know for being one of the current CEO’s of the VT Gaming. He used to be my Warcraft 3 ESUP before he stepped down, and made his own organization. If you are still reading, please bare with me for a few more minutes as I am not telling you all this just because I want to brag about my small accomplishments in eSports.
I never liked nor I understood Starcraft well, but since 2007 when I actually was able to attend my first LAN tournament ever, and saw SC1 finals with top Polish players clashing in epic battles I was mesmerized. I saw MiStrZZZ, Dreiven, Draco, Yayba, ParanOid and many more LIVE. And you cannot deny these are / were big names back then, and still are for most of the community worldwide.
Since then I started watching SC whenever I had a chance during offline tournaments, but I was still not into it since I was writing mostly about Warcraft 3… but that was 4 years ago. I stopped being an active editor for any website around February 2010. I got hooked by the newly created Heroes of Newerth, and even started blogging about it. You can read it here. I managed to get almost 3000 views in the first month (2,973 to be exact), but lost the steam in the upcoming months as I disliked the community. On a side note, MOBA games have the most retarded communities ever. Anyway, Since May 2010 I was not active as an editor, but still kept in touch with the whole eSports scene reading news, articles, interviews, etc. on a daily basis.

We have August 2011, and I miss writing so bad. I cannot see myself working with the old websites I did some work for since most of them are dead. I did not know what to do… and then I felt in love with Starcraft 2. I am trying to keep up-to-date with SC2 scene for the last few weeks. I do not know much, thus, I do not participate in discussions as I believe my opinion would not really count. I just bought SC2 and I believe it is time to learn how to play it.
That is why I made this entry. In order to connect two things I adore in life, which is gaming and writing, I will be creating a blog, where I will put all the information of my progress from a complete newb to a gold / platinium level player. You have to bare in mind I will be starting from scratch. My knowledge about this game is next to nothing, so it is not only builds that I have to learn, but also how this game works in general.
Which race am I going to play? I guess Protoss since it looks like the easiest race out there, but I always wanted to play zerg so after I get a least a basic knowledge of the game I might swap my main race.
The whole idea is to make this blog a bit similar to what I did with the HoN one I mentioned few paragraphs ago, but with slight changes. Besides trying to give you, the audience, a bit of daily insight in my progress and general thoughts, I will try to bring YOU what I love the most – interviews with top players, coaches, team managers etc. I will not do it only for you, but also for me. Both the community I am slowly getting addicted to will benefit from it, but I will as well. This is the brief description of the project.
However, this whole project would require a bit of help from your side guys, the amazing Starcraft community. As I mentioned I am a total newbie. I will be watching replays, streams, and read as much as I can to acquire basic knowledge, but that is just a theory and I need practice as well. If there would be people who would like to play with me, and help me develop as a player it would be more than welcome. I will also be posting small replay-packs with some of my lost game. If there are people who would actually like to watch and analyze some of them for me I would appreciate it.
Still, this is not everything. This whole project, blog or however you want to call it is not just about gaming. Believe it or not, but it has something more to it. This “thing” will help me out outside the gaming world as well. This is going to yet another opportunity to work on my craft as a writer and English user. I am not an English native-speaker, and I believe there is still a room for a large improvement. Internet besides having a lot of trolls is actually the biggest place full of constructive criticism and knowledge. With your help I can get better at it. So if you spot a mistake please send me a PM and I will correct every single one so that in the future I will not make it again.
This is also an opportunity for me to prove I am a highly-motivated, consistent person, and that if I set a goal for myself I do everything to achieve it. After the holidays are over I will go back to studying. My goal is to study since I am graduating this year and will be starting another major in the following one. At the same time I will be trying to make this blog interesting for you and get better in SC2.
I am fully aware that writing more walls of text will not help me to get more people interested in what I do, but who would be interested in watching bronze or gold player streams? I have a lot of ideas like streaming, live interviews or whatnot, but that will come later. For now, I want to start small without promising anything, and hopefully with your support I will be able to go bigger and more entertaining.
I will also if possible try to cover or at least write about the offline SC2 events here in Poland including much anticipated Blizzard European Invitational and Samsung European Championship both taking place in Warsaw.
If you soldiered through the whole text thank you. Even if you are skeptical or not really interested, although without your help guys I will not be able to do much. So if you find a minute to watch a reply and leave a comment or would play a game or two or just send me a couple of useful links – I can tell you right now I do appreciate it all.
Also if you are a graphic or you’re handy with coding and you could help me out with this wordpress layout please message me via PM, add justforthejob to your friends list on skype. My GG number for Poles is 4859527.
I will ditch wordpress for a regular website with paid domain if I will be able to get more viewers and subscribers. Tweeter and Facebook group might be created later on if there are going to be some people interested in following this story.
Best regards,
Albert
