Since the dawn of time...erm, since the Dawn of Starcraft 2, there has been an oppressive carpet lain down onto the community. A fog that choked even the most reasonable of posters and fueled the most angry of trolls. A curtain that hid common sense from those who would normally think clearly.
I am talking of course, about the zerg balance whine.
Yet today, on this momentous day of days, us Protoss and Terran kindred souls, brethren drowning in the sea of whining, we can rejoice and celebrate.
For the first time in Korean GSL history, the finals oppose a Zerg to another Zerg.
Fluke? you may say.
Easy brackets? you may claim.
Well, I say nay! NAY!
this is the end of an era, the era of zerg whining has finally ended. Now and forever, any zerg claiming imbalance shall be ridiculed. Any zerg claiming a loss was not their fault shall be cast out. We can rejoice! Let the banhammers fall on the balance whiners! WE HAVE HAD OUR DAY!
Today, our Terran allies and my Protoss brothers pop the champagne, no longer will we need to listen to poorly constructed rants about zerg.
Now of all days, Losira faces off against Nestea.
And it has been PROVEN through trial by fire that Zerg is not the Underpowered race.
and through it all, the Terran and Protosses, and even a select few Zergs, can cry out with one voice. We did not go quietly into the night! we did not vanish without a fight! Today, we celebrate our independence day! erm....the end of zerg UP whine!

there's a huge lag in the development of game knowledge and people's opinions, and it's fueled by the lag time in casters' knowledge. the whining is gonna continue.
and that's just the reasoned whining which probably isn't the majority. so expect more whining regardless of results. refer to the general forum thread about contradictory evidence strangely reinforcing beliefs. it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

It probably has a lot to do with idra sort of being the figurehead for the english speaking scene. He's in the media more often than any other top foreign zerg and his complaints are heard often so that's probably where it comes from. I hear a lot of zergs nowadays saying "you shouldn't look at results, but look at the game and the players and how the game itself went..." whenever zergs start doing well which is so funny and hypocritical.

I've always maintained that Zerg is the strongest race of the 3, if played perfectly. It's just SO much harder to play Zerg perfectly than it is to play T and especially P perfectly. Thus, many amazing Zerg players can lose to decent Terrans and Protosses. But a perfect Zerg can't be beat. If SC2 ever has a bonjwa, I think it will be Zerg.

You may want to check PlayXP's QQ stats, where Korean players of each race submit daily how much they qq. Red-Z, Green-T, Blue-P. Clearly the balances keep shifting, and last November still keeps the lowest Z qq ranks. (after FD won GSL1) Even lower than now, but now it's likely to reach similar levels.
