Alas, the last weeks have not been all sweat and labor. I ran an LP of Alice: Madness Returns on Nightmare difficulty and ran into, yet again, numerous hardware and software related issues. The eSata drive I had set up with a WD 2tb Caviar Black has been forced to go USB due to some unusual hardware voodoo with eSata. And, to top the grand fiasco involved off, my microphone of 6+ years finally decided to start dying. I lost hours of Mic audio in the Alice LP without even realizing it until it was already over.
I replaced my $50 macmice mic with this, http://www.bluemic.com/yeti/ , which has thus far proven to be a meaningful upgrade and will likely serve me well in future projects. Alas, this latest charade shattered the camel's back. My will to cast is all but lost. I am bored of Starcraft 2 and I am tired of constantly having to repair and ditch LP projects. I am taking an extended break from video projects, though I still have some sc2 content left to upload.
I suppose I will eventually cast over the smaller portions of Alice that I lost, and then entirely redo Chapter 6 that has no mic audio at all. But not until I forget the game, so I can make an effort to rebuild the genuine levels of the cast's energy. Faking is not an option.
In the meantime, Black Sun pushes forward. With much work left to do, and so little energy to do it, the coming weeks will be a struggle indeed. Canadian summer bears on me, and in the boiling, unbearable humid inferno the last battle shall be fought for this project. One I wholly intend to win.
