I've had the same thing happen to me with the "downward spiral" about not being good at this game... ect.
and i beat GM's every day =/
funny, and somewhat comforting that someone would have it even at diamond level..
I just find ways to relax as much as possible when i get stressed. "Watch american dad/family guy" or just play some TF2 or doom3. : )

Emo in terms "making up problems and getting freaked out by them".

I had a vacation in early June. Flew to Montreal to watch a sporting event with my boyfriend. Had a great time, but then went immediately back to work.

ohh i got it, as all of the above said you could try to find new things to do or stay bussy, and if it persists or you feel you have been like this for too long, you could always go see a doctor. There are lots of anti-depressives and other stuff that can help you

The doctor's always an option, but I don't wanna get ahead of myself. I've been doing some internet sleuthing on anxiety and emotional control. If things get worse, I'll definitely seek some sort expert advice.

Making this blog post was actually pretty therapeutic. Hooray catharsis!

I had a girlfriend back when I was having issues - she helped a lot. I've got a super bad inferiority complex, but she kicked my ass back into shape, hahaha. Talking about it and just finding someone who is a good venting target is also really handy.

This works for me.

[EDIT] For the losing streak, just stop playing for that day, and start playing again when you feel confident and well.

): Most of my friends are still in college, so I rarely see them.
They're all taking summer school. I graduated early and immediately entered the work force. When they do come home, they make ridiculous plans that I can't make.
Such as, "hey wanna go drinking? It's 2:30 on a Wednesday! let's go!"

Any other games you can suggest?

I'm playing Borderlands right now.

I don't have the biggest games collection so sorry. Minecraft works the best for me when I am feeling down. I think Borderlands is a good game too. I think the Portal series are good games too (if you like puzzling).

The game just needs to be rewarding and keep your mind busy. Starcraft is very rewarding when you win, but when you lose, you feel down. So that's not the best game.

Learn something new. I have this thing when I see something really cool, I want to be able to do it. At the end it feels very rewarding. Like learning to juggle 3 balls for example. Or learn how to solve a rubik's cube.

Also sporting like Kickboxer said would be good too if you like too sport. Personally I don't, but for a lot of people that works too.

I honestly have yet to check out Portal. My game collection is super small, and they're mostly shooter games for Xbox.

I have a rubiks cube on my desk that I received from a conference. So maybe I'll try learning how to solve it since everybody scrambles it when I'm not looking. ):

I used to do motorsports, specifically kart racing. But I had to quit the super competitive side of it because of college. I haven't raced in a few months just because the season's on a 2 month break period. Also it's pretty darn expensive too.

Yeah, my boyfriend has been completely supportive of me. He's even skimming women's blogs (Lolololol poor guy...) and trying to find some solutions for me. It's definitely helping out, but for sure I'm not back to 100%.

Dude, just chill.
It's not like you can ever achieve anything worthwhile or great in life so why stress about it.
Eventually your car will run out of gas anyways, you can take your hands off the steering wheel every now and then or even take a nap on the passenger seat.

Staying busy doesn't make your life any more enjoyable, you just won't have the time to even try to enjoy.

I feel like this is the best advice in the thread. You may not feel like you have the energy at first but once you push through that your body will reward you. Also you will be doing something to become more healthy. Win/win

Minecraft is not relaxing, its so damn stressful going down into those dark and scary caves o.O damn skelingtongs.

On topic:
If your stressed mate, make sure you get plenty of sleep. With regards to your job just try to take on the extra work you got currently and finish it and just don't go down that road again. Finally, if you are stressed, and I mean really stressed, playing StarCraft is not a good thing to play, because you can make silly decisions in game which causes you to lose which causes you to rage which causes a racing heart which makes everything terrible. Take a break from StarCraft and play something else. Hang with your significant other, is a long weekend coming up? Take a vacation to a beach or something you both really enjoy.

Yeah, I definitely have not been getting a good night's sleep. I get around maybe 6.5 - 7hrs on the weekdays, if I'm lucky.

We've got a regular weekend (our long weekend just passed for 4th of July). Hopefully I can make the most of it.

I was just linked to this thread, but my boyfriend is like the same way. He starts losing matches and compleeeeetely rages out. All I can do is listen, and sometimes it's really hard because he gets so mad, and I try to just keep calm and tell him it's okay, it's a game. He's a master league terran, so he gets really upset when he's not doing as well as he should, because sometimes he has focus problems, and once he starts losing, he panics and goes for quick wins when he shouldn't.

If you can change your mentality in SC2 so that you think of every game as a learning experience (I have trouble with this too), maybe you will be able to control your anger (and downward spiral from there) better. Force yourself to watch the replay after the loss and then complain about how bad the other player was and what you should have done. Sometimes it's just one simple reason why you lost, sometimes it's a lot of little things.

And if you're not having fun with the game, stop playing. Take a break. Do something else with your time.

Whoever said exercise is also right, or something tension-relieving like kickboxing or punching a bag. xD

P.S. Rubik's cube is maddening. I can solve it, but you might be tempted to throw your cube across the room.
