Just as the title says -- I feel like I'm becoming one of those stereotypical emo kids. You know, the ones who just make up problems for themselves and then cry about it. Yeah, that.

Now, I definitely do not have a horrible life at all.
I'm young, employed and I have a significant other who loves me to pieces.

But here's what went down last night:
I played SC2, lost of a bunch of games in a row.
Then suddenly something snapped. I went into this spiral about how I wasn't good at the game (it's true, but let's be honest -- I'm in platinum league, which means there's a good amount of people who are worst than me and a good amount of people who are better than me). Suddenly this turned into a conversation about how my job was stressing me out.

And there, I think we hit it the mark and root of my issue.
I dedicate too much time to my job -- taking on responsibilities I don't have to do and creating more work for myself. However, I'm kind of in the situation where I can't back out of it.
I like my job and I don't want to leave it.

So, I need a way to release all my stress and ragequitting. I've been getting random illnesses lately, so my immune system is definitely cracking under pressure. I am on medication that does increase the level of hormones (also know as "the crazies"). If you're female, or you've spent time around females, you'll understand what this is...

tl;dr:
I'm stressed-- what can I do to release all of this stress?

Question time!:

What do you do when you're stressed out and you're starting to lose base with things?
And how do you come out of a nasty losing streak on Ladder?

EDIT: Thanks for all your feedback, by the way!

Things I do is:

-Talk to friends.
-Listen to happy upbeat music.
-Play relaxing games like Minecraft.

This works for me.

[EDIT] For the losing streak, just stop playing for that day, and start playing again when you feel confident and well.

Like POiNTx said, you just need to start doing things aren't stressful, or are happy.
I find that listening to music always cheers me up, as it has a change ability to directly influence my mood.
Do as I say, not as I do.

Emo in terms "making up problems and getting freaked out by them".

I had a vacation in early June. Flew to Montreal to watch a sporting event with my boyfriend. Had a great time, but then went immediately back to work.

1. Stay occupied. An idle mind is the devil's playground.
2. Stop that downward spiral before it can start. Once it starts, it's really hard to stop.
3. Give yourself the occasional pep talk.

): Most of my friends are still in college, so I rarely see them.
They're all taking summer school. I graduated early and immediately entered the work force. When they do come home, they make ridiculous plans that I can't make.
Such as, "hey wanna go drinking? It's 2:30 on a Wednesday! let's go!"

Any other games you can suggest?

I'm playing Borderlands right now.

This thread was created only minutes ago. It should answer your question on how to deal with losing streaks, and generally make you feel better with your life as in the end, your problems will go away.

You sound like the one-year-ago version of me.

Say yes to "can you work overtime this week" to your full time job, end up working multiple 60+ weeks in a row. Then they don't bother asking anymore because they expect you to say yes, or do anything they ask. To be honest, the easiest way for me to prevent this from happening was to BS some excuses why I couldn't work late that night, or that Saturday. My work stress has gone down tenfold because I don't feel like I HAVE to get all this done, or people are gonna get pissed.

The reason you get asked to do extra stuff is because no one else wants to, so they go to you because it's an easy "yes"...Just start saying no. Tell them your bf/gf is expecting you to go out tonight or something...they'll understand. If they don't, tell em to shove off. :p

As for ladder? I find it's better just to take a break. Someone suggested Minecraft - that game can be fun if you're with friends or just want to ponder in your own creativity for a while, but find a game that'll totally chill you out. Something that doesn't necessarily have a win/lose situation so you stop beating yourself up if you screw it up. I find it's better to quit laddering for a while than try and bust through a loss streak.

Also this video always makes me cheer up.

ohh i got it, as all of the above said you could try to find new things to do or stay bussy, and if it persists or you feel you have been like this for too long, you could always go see a doctor. There are lots of anti-depressives and other stuff that can help you

Ouch, that's pretty harsh. :\ Glad you go through it though!
I work in the same office as my bf, actually. lol.

My work isn't super stressful, it's just that the shit has been hitting the fans lately. I'm sort of like the first response team. If something goes down, I gotta tell everyone to get help. So I'm constantly watching the project, trying to make sure everyone's happy.
I'm not the only one though. A lot of people are stressed out. I think I'm the only one who's showing it though/not handling it well.

2 months ago, I was like "WOO SC2 EVERYDAY! Partyyyy"
Now it's like "aguhgeughuughhh is it sleepy time yet?"

I might just take a few days off from SC2, as many have suggested. The ladder's locked, but I still wanna play a little before it resets.

Regarding that video: Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwe <3 <3 <3
While we're on the topic of adorable animals...

Observe.

You're still young. Take a breath. Breathe in for luck, breathe in so deep. Hands down these are the best days you will remember, so don't feel emo.

I don't have the biggest games collection so sorry. Minecraft works the best for me when I am feeling down. I think Borderlands is a good game too. I think the Portal series are good games too (if you like puzzling).

The game just needs to be rewarding and keep your mind busy. Starcraft is very rewarding when you win, but when you lose, you feel down. So that's not the best game.

Learn something new. I have this thing when I see something really cool, I want to be able to do it. At the end it feels very rewarding. Like learning to juggle 3 balls for example. Or learn how to solve a rubik's cube.

Also sporting like Kickboxer said would be good too if you like too sport. Personally I don't, but for a lot of people that works too.

The doctor's always an option, but I don't wanna get ahead of myself. I've been doing some internet sleuthing on anxiety and emotional control. If things get worse, I'll definitely seek some sort expert advice.

Making this blog post was actually pretty therapeutic. Hooray catharsis!
