I mean way to take yourself just a tad too seriously. It is almost like people have to protect what they feel is good art otherwise the whole scene will collapse. Is it really that hard to not like something and accept that others will? Not all art is meant to be displayed and sold in galleries. 50 years down the road, they will pull this painting out of the attic and it will serve as a memento of the kind of relationship they had when they were young.
