I'm bored. I basically just want to test that I've got this fmle setup correctly. idk if i've got the sound on correctly or not, but I'm going to be running through the game. It's probably my favourite game of all time so I thought why not share a runthrough of it. Don't expect a ridiculously fast time as I'm not that good at it, and haven't played it in a while.
Also in relation to my last blog I actually got up to silver earlier in the week. Doubt I get anywhere near gold before the ladder reset so I'll probably not rush to it.
wow under two hours despite botching everything, including nearly fucking up the escape completely so i couldn't save the critters
yeah, the choppiness is probably a mix of bad upload rate (speedtest has it at something like 500k qq) and me setting quality too low to compensate as such. my cpu certainly should be able to handle it
edit: some notes for both people that were watching:
- it's a limitation of many keyboards including mine that it limits the number of inputs you can have at one time, hence why i needed to change the keys if i wanted to shinespark running from left to right. this is also why i never mockballed, i could probably get under an hour if i could, best i've done is 1:10. this limitation is most noticable when playing chrono trigger, at one point in that game you need to hit three buttons at once or die, and have to map them onto one key
- i also needed to reset immediately upon starting as i forgot to change the in-game setup to what i use
- all four bosses were awful, i can quick kill kraid but only hit 3/4 supers. phantoon wasn't too bad. draygon took an age to let me grapple the wall, and i nearly died to ridley as well
- i completely forgot that you just need to do a normal running jump to get the grapple beam and not shinespark, oops
- failed outside the wrecked ship totally, cost me at least five minutes
- forgot how to do the third escape room and messed up the shinespark up the main crateria shaft, so i nearly died post-mother brain which i've never done ever
