Teamliquid has always housed many sub-communities/cultures--anime being one of the most prominent, so I'm trying to find other members and maybe organize a meetup during AX. I've never been there before, so I'm absolutely clueless in terms of how things usually work and are conducted.

Hey man are you going for all the days? I am thinking of going for just the two middle days since usually the first day is kinda slow cuz everything is being set up and the last day is the opposite and things are being taken down.
It is really fun and I am willing to have a meet-up and stuff

Do you guys know if the concert will be free? Last year I was able to get into the sophia concert for free.

Apparently they give out all the leftover concert tickets for free the day of the concert. Previously, they've never sold out before but this year Kalafina and Miku concerts sold out.

Usually I find Friday to be the best day of the convention, so I'd recommend going. Most of the Guest of Honor panels and autographs sessions happen on Friday, you have a fresh dealer's room, and its not as crowded. Big crowds can be uncomfortable to deal with, IMO, especially on Saturdays.

Yea that's also an upside to it I guess. If you bought the tickets early then the 4 days turns out to be much cheaper =D

Shameless plug: I'll be hosting the Japanese Figures and Collecting panel at Anime Expo this year.

I'll be working with two good friends. We will display some figures of our collections, show some nice pictures in the background, and talk about our experiences as collectors. We will talk about why we enjoy this hobby, as well as more practical things you will find useful as a collector.

The panel will be on Sunday, July 3rd, 8:00 PM. Room LP3.

Theres a special going on this year since its the 20th anniversary one, you can get a ticket to the exhibit hall for only 20 bucks I think. Personally thats always a ton of fun browsing the artist alley and the venders.
