Its nearly 6am local time, I can't sleep and I'm a little down. But rather than wallow in my slight lack of purpose, I want you to plug some shit. It can be anything, as long it is either: funny, interesting, exciting, fascinating etc Try plugging something you think will be slightly obscure.
and in return, I'm going to pre emptively plug some shit.
1. My Brother, my brother and me
This is pretty funny, and the sound of 3 brothers answering questions is what is cheering me up right now. You can listen to full length episodes here, for the low, low price of free. And here is a sample available on youtube:

And yes, I'm plugging MBMBAM again.
2 Dystopia
The next two plugs are source mods, this is a mod that is set in a dystopian future, and is a objective based team shooter, it has a pretty cool dynamic between what happens in the physical real world and what happens in cyberspace, you travel around cyberspace as a avatar, and you can hack things like turrets and doors in the realworld.
You can find me on one of the few active servers as "Tifa is a vinyl fan", say hello and mention TL.
3 NeoTokyo
This mod is the coolest source mod you will ever see, again, a team based shooter, but this plays alot more like CS than Dystopia, no respawn until the round in over, and only one objective part, to capture the "ghost", a robotic female torso, which when held reveals enemy positions on the compass, but makes the holder nearly defenceless, which means communication is vital. Luckily, in such a small game, nearly everyone uses voices comms, especially on American servers.

In addition, the gameplay is more or less exactly it is in the trailer, in nearly every round, tension is created by there being moments of defensive vigilance, followed by periods of extreme intense action. If nothing the else, the soundtrack to this game, a double disc of music, is marvellous if you are into ambient electronica, or otherwise.
And with the sun rising, I'm out, going to eat the last of my cereal, and see if there are any Neotokyo/Dystopia severs running, and remember, this a is a chance to plug something cool.
um, well I think that when someone is depressed, the best thing to do is clear your mind, clear it of all distractions. that includes video games, pop culture, even tl. then you have to locate what is causing the depression, the source of your troubled thoughts. it sounds like you're so caught up in living life that you're forgetting to enjoy it, you're so involved in the tiny things that you're losing sight of the bigger picture.
I also loved Neotokyo for a while, but I've found that the game is pretty much dead now. I still have the soundtrack on my ipod though - the best part of that game was the music.
I watch a lot of TV shows and movies, so maybe I could plug something for you like that? I don't know how obscure they would be, since I watch a lot I don't know how well known they are in general, but some funny shows would probably be:
Archer Reaper Boston Legal Community Parks and Recreation
I have a lot of cool shows as well, but most of them are depressing and it doesn't sound like you need any more of that. But if you are interesting in something specific, I can recommend something.
I suggest growing a beard. It will take your mind off of just about everything else, while you admire the growth in the mirror each day and stroke it when bored. It will make you more manly and you will learn alot along the way. It will cure all.
I used to play a bit of Dystopia, especially after Tron Legacy as I would put on the Tron Legacy soundtrack and pretend that I WAS THE TRON. Haven't got a chance to try out Neo Tokyo but it seems a bit like Dystopia no? The biggest issue with those team based games is that they're only insanely fun if you have a team that communicates well, otherwise the experience is pretty bad.
Plugging some of this funky electronica ambient stuff - Bonobo. I think he's pretty popular but I just found out about him in the past year:

i hope my words have helped you my friend!!
Saying I was depressed was a little bit disingenuous, just a bit lonely at 6am with no one to talk to and not a great deal to do. ( a little bit more detail is, my second year of UNI has finished and I have very little to do, other than look for a job, and decide if I'm gonna stay at in my uni town, and be terribly lonely with no friends, and easily find a job, or go home to be with my family, and have more difficultly finding work)
Thanks to all responders, I liked your contributions, all of them where a pleasant surprise, as they where things which new to me, but I would be a miss if I didn't give a special mention to you nedge, even though I've been replaced by cgivisionary, also to mah boi, shindigs, slashfic writer in crime.
I have a beard, its like... a little hair, more of a goatee. And yes the NeoTokyo sound track is SO GOOD, and I did play NT recently, like a week ago, but i tried today and no one was on, gonna have to keep on checking and even idling I guess.
