I originally pitched to my farther the idea of going Anaheim on my own dime (I live under his roof, free of rent,he helps pay for college, etc. so I have to ask him to do major stuff). He originally responded in the affirmative and even earlier today in a phone call said we would sit down and book flights/hotels together!
Then it turned for the worse. he told me it was a waste of money, time, and energy to go to California for a gaming convention. So needless to say, I'm not going anymore as projected and I'm just kinda bummed about it.
Yeah, I'm complaining on the internet, but it seems like the internet would understand my upset feelings the most. I'm not pissed or anything, just pretty bummed out.
Just kinda ranting as is per usual on a blog.

Oh well, maybe you can go to another MLG in the future.

Fight for it if you can do it without jeapordizing your living position. If that fails plan for the next one. MLG isn't a waste of time. People need a vacation, to do something fun, to see something new, and if you can do it do. Sorry you can't make it. You can however watch the stream and hang out in teamliquid's irc or whatever chats there are. I do that for the GSLs and it's so much fun. Hell invite some friends over and watch it online together or go to their house. You'll get to one.

Well I was clearly trolled by my father. I was terribly upset and threw up because of it (I get nauseous when I get upset about stuff), and he comes into my room and goes, "Well let's see what this thing you care about is all about."
We just booked the flight and hotel for both of us! He's coming to MLG with me and I'll be there :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^

Well, he might not have trolled you. Intentionally anyways. Maybe he saw that you were legit upset about it and had a change of heart from his last change of heart? He might still think it's useless and a waste of time - be he just sees now that it's not that for you, and that it's important.

lol I can't seem him having a third change of heart because stuff is paid for and he's going! now to build him a "starcraft 2 cheat sheet"...
at any rate I think he saw how upset I was and just wanted to make me happy, not troll me as I said. I'm pretty ecstatic right now :D

Hopefully Anaheim will be even better then Cbus and he can see the passion of the people and maybe even become a fan :D Your dad seems like a cool guy for wanting to go too!

Grats on getting to go to MLG. Even the 2010 MLG Dallas which was sub-par compared to Columbus was a fucking thrill. You'll have a blast.
