So, I'm craving burgers right now, and though 5 Guys is closed here, I plan on celebrating the end of my exams tomorrow with a trip to 5 Guys.
That being said, too long have I ordered the bacon burger with the standard stuff. I once tried mushrooms, grilled onions, and jalapenos, though I don't think that combo worked out as well as I had hoped.
Now, I ask the denizens of this wonderful website: how should I build my burger at 5 Guys or any other burger joint? Bonus points for how I can customize a burger from Burger King.

bbq sauce, fresh onions, lettuce, fresh jalapenos, and mushrooms

lots of cheese and bacon ofc. Nice job making it through the semester. Are you going home during this weekend?

5 guys is so good. omg. ok i always get 2x grilled mushrooms lettuce mayo and mustard, it's super simple but i use to go crazy adding shit on and it'd take me forever to order so nOW everything is just peachy. i love how they give you fries in that brown paper bag and all the grease soaks through OMGGGGGG
|
I usually just go with the standard burger setup and sometimes with bacon, so good. They give you so many damn fries they just overflow into the bag.
|
I usually get the works with my burgers and take the mushrooms off. I don't like the texture of them so I don't eat them but I do enjoy the flavor they bring to the burger. Usually save bacon for a special occasion
|
hot sauce hot sauce, and more hot sauce oh and peppers
|
bacon cheeseburger all the way, every time
Five Guys is probably one of the best burger joints for the price and availability

This seems to be a promising combo. I'm going to mentally save this for my next trip.

I'm going home on the 11th, but I still have one more exam tomorrow.

This also seems like a promising combo. Last time that I tried this combo, I think they added too little bbq sauce, though I might try this combo again.

im not gonna lie in and out is better than 5 guys

Can you guys actually finish a burger and fries by yourself? I ordered a regular hamburger (2 patties) and a regular fries last time I went. The burger was easy to finish, but the fries pretty much stuffed me until the next afternoon.

relish, raw onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, hot sauce, jalapenos it always falls apart for me once i try eating it... is it because i put too much shit on it or is that just how their burgers usually are

It's quite easy when you stay up until 7 am watching GSL/Proleague/MSL and sleep through lunch, thus making dinner the only meal of the day.
My stomach has trained itself with plentiful Chipotle, Qdoba, and other gut-stuffing foods so that I'm quite prepared for such large portions.

Gives you an awesome snack the next day though.

There is one 5 Guys in Frisco, btw.

goddamnit, now i crave some five guys -.-
i personally am a fan of bacon, cheese, and peppers =D

Am I the only person that dislikes 5 Guys? Their buns are too doughy for me.
White Spot burgers remain the best I have tasted.

5 guys down here in la jolla(near san diego) is pretty dope

YES! Definitely do that! In-N-Out is absolutely delicious, and this is coming from someone who has only even eaten the fries LOL
I can tell that the others enjoy the burgers though T_T the buns have milk/egg so I just eat fries ><
But yeah. Eat there ASAP. So good. Might want to check out the "secret menu" too?

They're kind of different burgers though people like to compare them. 5 Guys is more meaty and juicy and you can put a lot of things on it, and they tend to be messy if you put a lot of stuff in it. In-N-Out doesn't have as much patty but the overall package is well made, consistent, and not messy. Also I prefer In-N-Out fries slightly over 5 Guys. InNOut does have slightly better buns I think, but I don't really care about he buns, the best buns at a major fast food burger restaurant I ever had were probably at a McDonalds in Australia (lol).
They're both good burgers, but i prefer 5 guys if i want some messy and fatty burgers (like those old carls jr commercials) which I sometimes crave for. In N Out has the better packages though, and one thing I really hate about 5 guys is their prices are out the wazoo. IIRC its 2 bucks for a fountain soda there, something that is 55 cents at a Costco, which causes me to get water everytime I go to 5 guys.
|
oh my god i love five guys and i hate you for making me crave it T_T
i always get either a cheeseburger or bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapeno, and hot sauce
as for in n out vs five guys, i'd have to say five guys 'cause i love the cajun fries way too much n_n
|
Cheeseburger with Light mayo (sometimes), lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, bbq sauce.
I prefer the simplicity of my in-n-out order though. Two cheeseburgers (w/ grilled onions) and a small drink. Bam.

Yeah, tbh I think the Five Guys burger might be like, bigger and more filling and equally delicious but I prefer In-N-Out for its simplicity in its menu, and much better prices. Plus the fries at in-n-out feel lighter.
|
So I don't know about your Five Guys, but the ones that I've been to recently now have an option called "all the way" which gets all the toppings that are written in black on the menu (the standard stuff). I usually get all the way + jalapenos.

Bacon cheeseburger, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, A1 Sauce. Simple, and fucking delicious.
|
My order is Cheeseburger with grilled onion, mushrooms, and ketchup. I also get a small fries for myself. Afterwards I slip into food coma.
|
You can't go wrong with Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and ketchup.
