So everybody and their second aunt on their father's side is excited about MLG today and the rest of this weekend. Myself included can't wait to be able to catch whatever matches I can in the hopes of seeing the Taste[9] casting combo that you know will pop up. I honestly didn't plan it this way, but the start of the NESC2League happens to almost coincide with this weekend (I'm off by 2 weeks btw June 18th). I did purposely plan all the event dates for the league to not happen on MLG weekends, but again, the irony is the seasonal start date.
Now, we have added another venue for this year down in the Cape in Massachusetts, as well as some really awesome sponsors that give a damn about the league, and not just advertising. Now, because of this love from companies like Kingston HyperX, Cooler Master, and NZXT, I have hundreds, and by hundreds I mean at least $400, of free gear to give out for free at EVERY tournament. Anyone want an SSD just for showing up?
Aside from the new venue down on the cape, I've added a location in Connecticut and freely invite and want to see New Jersey and New York folks come by and compete/hang out. You guys are close enough to New England that you could compete, and besides, if you want to show up and support a tournament, I don't care if you're from the west coast and show up to play (just make sure to register :p). In fact, if you want to make the long hike in a few weeks, we our registering for the first tournament in Maine on this thread:

Lower leagues?
Well, just about every tournament I have arranged has been for higher level players; diamond, master, grand master levels and it seems unfair to the real base of the community, everyone bronze -> platinum. I actually held a low league tournament a while back at a LAN center and we had a decent turnout of about 14 people. Most people couldn't make it due to long drives or bad timing. So to really rectify this, I had to do some additional work. I needed to figure out an affordable tournament, where anyone had a chance of winning, regardless of what division you are and the prizes weren't absurd. Something that will make you want to play because it's not just giving someone else your money. So I came up with this:

Now here is where I need some of your help. I'm not getting much attention for it, even though a lot of people had showed initial interest in. What do I need to change?
Area of Affect
I only have this in the New England area (NY and NJ included) as a test area. I'm close to the community here, but it seems like a lot of people have lost contact with the league website.

Cost
$10 seems like a lot of money when you account 128 people. But let's think of the bigger picture; not every tournament is going to fill up with 32 players from each division. And when the lessons get opened up to other teams that have high prices for lessons (Idra=$300/hr) it ends up costing a lot of money for a pro players time. Now imagine both 1st and 2nd place want lessons from Idra, that comes to $900. With a lower entry fee, I wouldn't be able to provide every time we run the tournament.
Poll: Does it cost too much?
Something lower like $5 is much more manageable (7)

I really want to make this happen for the community as I don't think there are enough stuff for us lower league guys, and this, I feel, really makes it worth the effort and cost. Please help me help you. I only used Idra as an example as he is the most expensive lesson of the teams that have confirmed
