I know some of you out there want to join possibly the most prestigious team on the Starcraft 2 scene. I don't blame you. The team houses the only two foreigners in the GSL, the captain of cool, God himself in german form, a pair of sexy zergs, and the blunkmaster.
You might be thinking to yourself, "all I need to do is practice really hard and get really good and then I can join Team Liquid." That's where you're wrong. Dead wrong.
You see there's a very important factor to joining the team, in fact, some people might say the most important. The length of your id.
"Well jeeneeus, that seems pretty silly, why would a team pick up people based on the length of their id?" you might inquisitively ask. "There's no way skill isn't the important factor in joining Team Liquid." That's where you're wrong. Dead wrong.
If you look at the roster of Liquid members, we have: Nazgul (six letters) Tyler (five letters, also was previously NonY which is four letters) TheLittleOne (a million letters, however is easily abbreviatable to TLO, three letters) Jinro (five letters) HayprO (six letters) Ret (three letters) Huk (three letters) Drone (five letters)
As you can see, every one of them has a name with six letters or less, with a total average of four letters. Note also that the two most recent recruits are three letters long. That was done on purpose to lower the average.
"Well jeeneeus, that's pretty likely I'd say, I think most people out there have ids six letters or less. I'd say the average length of ids in most teams is around the same." That's where you're wrong. Dead wrong. Evil Geniuses- longest id 9 (iNcontroL, StrifeCro) average 7.14 Mousesports- longest id 8 (ThorZain) average 5.88 (REPEATING) Millenium-longest id 9 (Adelscott) average 7.166 + Show Spoiler + etc.
"Well jeeneeus, you've convinced me now. Team Liquid only recruits people with short ids. It doesn't make sense though, there's no good reason for picking only short ids." That's where you're wrong. Dead wrong.
The secret is in the tag. Team Liquid doesn't have the luxury of a short tag like other teams (ROOT, sj, MYM, etc.). The Liquid tag was Liquid', which has been expanded to TLAF-Liquid'. Of course with their new sponsor, they'll have to be TLAF-rzr-Liquid'. Fact: Blizzard has a character limit on ids. So, Team Liquid is forced to pick people with short ids so they can fit everything.
So now the secret is out. Use the information wisely. In the future, try to think more carefully about what id you choose. You might think BigDick69 might be funny now, but the joke will be on you when you can't join Team Liquid.
Good luck to you in the future when you wise up, get a short id, and join Team Liquid. As for me, I have no shot with my 8 letter name.

Well to be fair ingame they only use the liquid tag. LiquidNazgul. LiquidTLO. LiquidRet. LiquidHuK. etc.
To be fair, TLAF-rzr-BigDick69 is the greatest name ever.

How do you explain Nony adding an extra letter to his name?

I situation that disproves the rule?
Fnatics KawaiiRice is a million letters; but his ingame ID is abbreviated to FnaticKR or something like that; no biggie!

|
|
That's why FrozenArbiter renamed then? :O
|
^ :OOOOOOO
TLAF-rzr-Liquid`BigDick69 is the greatest name ever.

This glaring evidence demands a statement from management! How do you defend this blatant short name favoritism. Is there no Blizzard instance where we can report this heinous crime?
WONT SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/LXfsc.jpg) Great post!

If you think BigDick69 is funny, I don't think ID length is going to be the limiting factor in acceptance to Liquid

NOW I KNOW THE TRUTH! edit: 5/5
|
So this is the reason for Frozen Arbiter's name change.
I am amazed - and disappointed, because my SC2 ID is 7 letters =(.
