One night I got a call from someone with a weird area code. I answered, and it was a girl who told me basically that my info was on 4chan and read off a paragraph of nasty comments and stuff about me which is, frankly, not true.
Just so you know what they were saying, it was along the lines of;
My cell number
My facebook
My full name
"he cheated on his girlfriend(untrue)
he cries over her a lot(untrue)
he cries a lot(repetitive much?)
he's a christian faggot"
And some other things. I was really in shock that this would happen and since it was 4chan, I had no clue who it was. But today my friend got a screenshot of someone I do know that hates me for no good reason and it said, "If you hate them, post their contact info, 4chan is good for something"
Now I don't wanna go post his info online or anything but I don't want to take this sitting down.
Any suggestions?
Frankly, it really did piss me off.

I'm pretty sure that if it's on 4chan, you can't do anything about it anymore.

My suggestion is call the girl back and ask her out, sounds like quite the nice girl for not just trolling you.

Restraint is the better part of valor, or something like that. Don't post his contact info it won't make him go away. Persistently ignoring him is more likely to work.

4chan should know the IP of the person who posted your info, but I dunno if they'll bother to help you or not. If they do give you the IP and it's not a proxy or some weird crap, you can talk to his internet service provider and get him in some trouble.
Other than that just change your cell-number.

Well if you get harassed as a result of 4 chan you should call your cell company and change the number. Otherwise theres not much you really can do but getting back at them via the same route is on the "don't ever do" list

honestly unless you have done something that would piss off 4chan you should be fine. I just scrolled through the first few pages of /b/ and i could not find the post so you have already drifted to the back pages if not had your info fall off the 15th page.
Also, 4chan has been on a big "we are not your personal army" thing recently so you really have nothing to worry about.
Ps my interest in 4chan is purely from a research angle. I think its a very interesting concept to have an anonymous board
