This and every forum dedicated to Starcraft and to eSports in general has been filled to the brim on what the fledgling North American Starleague is lacking in. Being the first of its kind in the west, the scrutiny placed upon the NASL has been gargantuan, as the hopes and expectations of thousands of viewers are pinned on the success of the league. If it fails, it will most likely set competitive gaming back on the whole in the US for some time, and may even beckon in yet another crash of esports as a legitimate form of entertainment.
Using GOM TV's GSL as the watermark, people have pointed out quality concerns regarding overall production (especially the audio), the quality of the casters and the quality of the games. On top of this, after only a week NASL representatives have already had to deal with "controversies," a word that shouldn't be associated with any organization until it has firm enough footing to hold itself up to such impediment. These include player drops and wins, issues with maps as well as the Lag TV incident.
However, despite all of this discussion and discourse, sprawling hundreds upon hundreds of pages and inciting some very passionate opinions both defending and castigating, not one person has yet to truly grasp the fundamental issue that is paralyzing the NASL.
There is no muffled Koreans shouting in the background.
That's right, despite what you may think, the only reason any of you have ever watched any game on GOM TV, or any Brood War match for that matter, is so that you can hear over-excited Korean casters shitting their pants and butchering English words in an attempt to increase the hype and tension of the match while you listen to the English commentary of the great Tastosis or perhaps the venerable Nuke.
Listen to those mother fuckers, they don't stop talking. Ever. I can only imagine how they are amping up the building of the first few workers.
"Holy shit will you look at that fucking probe! Look at it!"
So, this is my proposal, and it will fix not only the NASL, but MLG, IGN pro-league, NFL, NHL, FIFA, your toilet and your husband's (or wife's) inability to produce an erection.
According to the US census information Cerritos, CA has the highest density population of Asians in the US:
Holy shit this couldn't get easier! That place is right on your doorstep NASL people? And look at how big Geoff is, he could be grabbing 'candidates' left and right with the cleaves from his mighty arms! Better yet, the cost of supplies necessary to "bag" a Korean is under $100 (not counting shipping from Amazon):
It doesn't even matter what they're screaming in the background, because god knows how impossible it is for someone without the sacred Korean bloodline to actually speak or understand Korean, or at least according to the Bible. It only matters that they invoke a great deal of emotion, and tied up in a dark room and blind-folded believe YOU ME they'll be full of that!
Finally, NASL has the knowledge to move forward, but the real question is, do they have the grit? Overcoming the challenges associated with not having a small family of Korean immigrants tied up in a recording studio has been telling on the fledgling league so far, but with a little hard work, some humility and a large enough trunk, I believe they can create a truly magnificent eSports institution.
seriously, wtf are those koreans saying though T___T 3 people talking nonstop vs. 2 people talking. Why has foreign casting adopted a 2 person style vs korean 3? definitely need to "hire" a third

Not all korean commentary is the same though. Look at MBCgame's guys going nuts at every little thing, some of the most awesome thing to listen lol. The OGN (and GOM) guys seem to be more reserved even if still above english casters enthusiasm
