Post Drum 'N Bass tracks!

Roughly two months ago I discovered the genre Drum 'N Bass...and I literally fell in love with it. Before I had started really getting into it, I just thought dnb was so quiet and chill and yawn-worthy. However, now that I have given it a chance, I gotta say it's probably my favorite genre at the moment.

Problem is, I know almost nothing about it. I know a fairly good amount about electronic dance music and its genres in general, however I am pretty well clueless about dnb. Particularly, I am clueless what the sub-genre of dnb that I am really into is called. If I had to call it anything...I would call it perhaps progressive dnb? It's got a lot of elements from EDM in general. Here are some of the examples of what I am talking about:

(videos are spoiler tagged)

Stuff I first discovered and am loving

Just discovered this one today:
+ Show Spoiler +

So what genre am I into? All of these tracks seem to have a bit of a theme, but more than likely I am thinking I am liking two sub-genres at the moment that are similar.

All comments appreciated, really want to get more into DNB and need some teaching.

I seem to be in the same boat as you, as in, being rather uninformed but interested in this genre.

Would it be illegal to spam Aphex Twin, that'd be the only thing I would know to mention (oh and random 1990's "MoonDance" mixes I have lying around).

Here's what I'm talking about, seriously one of my top favorite songs ever (one after is my older brother's top):

Oh, and do please disregard the first video's video. It's by Chris Cunningham, and if you're to watch it watch the full 10min version (basically it's an enormous satire of the entire hip-hop/rap scene and culture).
BW4LYF . . . . . . PM me, I LOVE PMs. . . . . . Long live "NaDa's Body" . . . . . . Fantasy | Bisu/Best | Jaedong . . . . .

Ohh you should definitely check out mS doS man really good Liquid DnB if you haven't checked out this genre yet. Here's a sample, and I have this folder that has 4 tracks of him from when I stole music from a friend if you'd like me to send it to you.

It has a slow intro just skip to around 3 minutes to get it started. It's a long video so just skip through parts and see what you like ^_^.

Can't really help you with stuff like you linked... I'd call it progressive dnb too.

I'm stuck in the 90s then it comes to dnb, stuff like Luke Vibert's output as Plug.
Far less dancey than what you're looking for though.

It's supposed to be automatic but actually you have to press this button.

You are into Liquid DnB (and some Atmospheric DnB too), it's one of my favorite (if not favorite) EDM genres. I just saw Netsky last month, it was amazing. I'm so happy someone else likes DnB on this forum!!!
Here's a few youtube channels you should subscribe to:

http://www.youtube.com/user/liquicity
http://www.youtube.com/user/LiquidMusick
http://www.youtube.com/user/AlongCameLiquid

Check out artists like:

High Contrast
Utah Jazz
Memro
Netsky
Indivision
Mutated Forms
B-Complex
LTJ Bukem
Camo & Krooked
Fred V
Grafix
Indivision
Joe Syntax
London Elektricity
Sub Focus
Logistics
Nu:Tone
Pendulum (Their old stuff, not their new metal/electronica hybrid trash)
+ Anyone on Hospital Records basically

Here's a few songs you have to hear if you like Liquid DnB, tell me what you like and I'll try to recommend you similar artists:

+ Show Spoiler +

edit: added songs. I may keep adding, I can't help myself. Love to get people listening to this genre

To the guy that posted Aphex Twin. He's not REALLY DnB, although his songs sometimes have some DnB elements. He's more classified as IDM/Glitch/Experimental, although he dabbles in every genre of EDM. Check out Vordhosbn, Heliosphan, and Ageispolis by him. Incredible songs. You should really just download his entire Druqks album and his Selected Ambient Works 85-92 album.

Thanks for the responses guys, very helpful.

@ Sephy69

Sounds good, but looking for a bit higher energy. Thanks for that offer though, really nice of ya.

@ Gatsbi

Thanks for all of that wow, lots of good stuff. Yeah I suppose it is liquid dnb and a bit of atmospheric that I am into. In particular I really love the dancey dnb that mucker mentioned, along with some more of the chiller/atmospheric stuff for breaks.

Of all the videos you posted, I am leaning more along the lines of Netsky's Eyes Closed/Sub Focus' Flamenco...or at least the instruments used there. B-complex's Beautiful Lies was nice too. Overall though, I suppose you can say I am looking more towards a bit higher energy level.

I checked out some more Nu:Tone, like him. Some sub focus stuff is pretty cool. Of course netsky. In general though, I am finding it hard to find that sort of exact, high energy, dnb that I am talking about though, seems to be hard to find. I check beatport daily for new tracks and very rarely will I find that type I'm talking about. Definitely liquid dnb...just a bit more progressive/dancey you can say.

Not too knowledgeable about DnB here, but my poking around and following various DJs led me to this, which I think is pretty sick. Crazy stuff, using the mixer to alter pitches, and some stupid good beat juggling.

liquid seems to be in a bit of a dryspell right now imo.. There was a peak more than a few years ago with Marky/XRS, Bungle, FX909, Young Ax and many others just putting out some of the best dnb tracks ive ever heard.

It's called liquid dnb, hardly 'progressive dnb' haha. You might call LTJ Bukem or something progressive if anything, but Netsky and the like are more cheese poppy upbeat tracks. So you basically will like anything currently on Hospital Records since they specialize in this electroish liquid sound.

LTJ Bukem - Atlantis (this track is from 93 amazingly really, so ahead of it's time)
