As I was stoked for the conclusion of League of Legends S1 and what it brings to the game I posted regarding the event and was met with a mix of feelings by comment responses. This brought me to a point where I'd like so just get an idea on how people are feeling about LoL vs HoN vs SC vs DotA vs DotA 2, and the whole deal.
People have said they think the release of DotA 2 will make a very large dent in the community for LoL and other Mobas, and even Rts. Lets put it to a poll:
Poll: Where does your future of games sit:Sc2 - The games young and well made, I'm not going anywhere. (95) 55% DotA 2 - DotA still reigns, and with improvements made, it will rule all the rest. (29) 17% LoL - Can't be a well made, free, game. (22) 13% HoN - As a moba this game holds my interest more than the rest. (18) 10% DotA - I'll stick to the original... I put it in there because I know a lot of people who are torn between wanting to take a moba seriously but still feel it just isn't as good as SC for one reason or another.
As far as which game is overall better, it doesn't fit in. I mean you can't really compare the genres, but in terms of which games people would like to start, or keep devoting time to, those are the grounds I intended it to be on lol

It's true. In my vent server, I have a WoW+LoL+HoN+DotA+etc channel.
And then I have a Stacraftuuuu channel. :D

Don't forget Blizzard has that dota of their own they showed off at Blizzcon coming. Or is that what you meant by SC2 in the pool?

sc2 has nothing to do with the other 3.
so outside of sc2 HoN was what i by far enjoyed the most. i playd dota (casually but still enough to sometimes be the ringer..) since the first 6.xx versions. immediatly jumped on HoN when beta started and loved it. a better faster dota.
lol i never liked in any way. something about the game just turns me off.

if i'm not mistaken hon (until they couldn't copy dota anymore) was basically, gameplaywise, an exact copy of dota, plus the new heroes they added in. the major changes were in everything around the game

i voted for LoL, i love starcraft, but i dont nearly have the dedication or time required to play it at any serious level. As far as lasting entertainment however, I love watching starcraft more than any other game. Its probably just me, but I dont find watching moba's entertaining at all, and its infinitely harder to explain to people how a moba works compared to how sc2 works. It seems like anyone can pick up a sc2 game and atleast understand enough to enjoy it in my experience.
I played hon during the beta but I wouldn't pay for the same game i can play for free. And i feel like they tried to keep alot of dated mechanics that ultimately just limits their playerbase whereas LoL is going places.
I think its funny that S2 is basically trying to make their game more and more like LoL as time goes on too XD
So, Watching SC2> Playing LoL > Trying DotA2 after reviews maybe> meh HoN

I recently stop SC2 to play LoL. Really fun game, but SC2 still my main and yeah SC2 doesnt really fit well into the category of 3 other games.
LoL has a pretty similar match making system and ranking as SC2.
Not sure what Valve will bring us with Dota2 though, not gonna leave SC for any other game anyway.

I haven't played BW in years haha I didn't even think about it when I made the poll. To be honest I thought it was just a casual time spend game now that Sc2 is around.
