How you guys doin'? If you couldn't guess my name is Sunstrider aka Mike aka TRIFLING GNOME aka...I ran out of those...
ANYWAYS
Just figure I cave and create a blog to try it out and see how I like it. Now, I suppose the definition of a blog, at least to me, is a log of things that happen to you, any thoughts you have and the like (like a journal). Well, I have those things, thoughts and what not and I would like to share them with you.
Season 1 wasn't really eventful for me, sc2 wise at least. It was more about my start of college and learning more about myself. My personality, my strengths and weaknesses and all that good jazz. As far as sc2 was concerned, I didn't play it much at all. I didn't pay much attention to it, I neglected it really. And sc2 became sad and depressed, not even getting patched at times. AND, the times I DID actually play, it would suffer from my lackluster protoss micro (but solid macro).
But, as season 1 came to its close, I started getting interested in Starcraft in general again, after I played BW at a lan party with a bunch of my friends. Particularly, Terran in sc2. I started to really like terran (because of its flexibility in builds and unit compositions and ghosts are bosses). So I just started messing around with a few builds, settling with the 3 rax expo build, which a diamond terran friend of mine pointed me towards as a build to get started with. With the start of the 2nd season, I played my placement match and got put into gold again, BUT THIS TIME, as the commander of a resourceful and flexible army ( and ghosts =D ).
So far, I've gone 4 wins 2 loses (those loses to baneling busts I didn't scout), but those more legit games (legit=mid into late game) I held my own and eventually fought to the win. My micro and macro is getting better and better with every game and so is my confidence.
I've also been messing around with incorporating ravens into my play (against zerg) in the mid to late game to help to deal with muta harass and negating broodlords.
There, the first blog post, YOUR WELCOME.
Talk at you guys later,
Mike
