I'm not sure if it's legal to make a rant blog on TL, but I need to vent out frustrations.
Today hasn't exactly been good for me and I feel like I need to take a breather, so here I am writing this blog.
When today started, I was actually pretty excited. I was going to take this girl to a lunch date; naturally, I looked forward to it. Ten minutes before I was supposed to meet her outside her classroom, she comes over with a couple of her friends. I'm usually okay with them tagging along on our dates; in fact, I'm close friends with some of her friends too. All seemed fine until the ENTIRE group started zoning into our conversation. They were staring at us, seemingly listening to every word we said.
I felt uneasy, so I stopped for a moment. They still stood there, like a bunch of mannequins staring blankly into space. I knew it wasn't going to end well, so I took off right there and then. She kept apologizing and stuff; I told her it was fine, but I had other matters to attend to [obviously an excuse] so I went over to the library and napped on one of the sofas, to blow off some steam. I'm not the type to "explode" into a fit of emotions when I'm upset, I tend to keep things to myself so I really needed the alone time.
Two hours later, some of my other friends called me, saying they wanted to play some basketball at the college courts. I told myself "this might be a chance for me to relax", so I agreed. I arrived at the courts just before they started one of the games.
Apparently, one of the guys on the opposing team was a familiar face. He would occasionally hang out with one of my childhood friends, because it turns out that he really really likes her. My childhood friend and I had a little bit of history together. We drifted apart, but we still remained friends.
Now this guy comes up to me and says "Yo, 'sup Kobe?".
I didn't understand what he wanted to imply, so I turned to him with a confused look on my face.
He didn't answer, so we went ahead and proceeded to start the basketball game.
I'm a good player in my college, probably good enough to get into the varsity team. I don't intend to join the team however, due to lack of interest.
On the first offensive run, I managed to grab a steal and proceeded to execute a fast-break play. My teammate was nearby, so I had a 2-1 advantage back court. I took off to fake a lay up, then did a behind the back pass to my teammate, promptly finishing the play.
Then, I heard what seemed like cheers from behind me. It was the guy who had the hots for my childhood friend, and he seemed to be sarcastically cheering.
"Oh my god, nice pass Kobe! I didn't know you actually KNEW how to pass?"
That was the last straw. I pulled out no stops. I ran rings around him, I slashed into the lane like some kamikaze plane flying into a destroyer. I rained daggers from behind the arc.
I took over the game.
By the third quarter, I was at 25 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals; not bad for a 5'10" sixteen year old playing with eighteen to twenty-ish year old college dudes. [By the way, I play shooting guard]
After finally silencing the ass, I asked for a timeout + substitution call. I told my teammates "Hey, you guys can take over from here, I need to grab a drink and rest."
They obliged.
I then took a quick warm shower, then headed off to the computer lab where some of my groupmates [for a project] were waiting. I asked one of them what I could do to help, seeing as they were having difficulty with the codes for the program we were tasked to create.
Guess what, all he said was "Uh dude, whatever."
I was surprised at his reply. "What do you mean whatever? Dude, this is a GROUP project. I am SUPPOSED to help"
He then totally ignores me, with me being totally clueless as to why he was behaving in such a manner. And to think, that guy ALWAYS begs me to lend him my notes because he needs them to study.
Some friend I got.
Today, everything went wrong. I have no idea why, but for some reason today seems to be an off day for me in general.
Well that's basically the end of my rant. I feel so much better. 
Back to studying Accounting.

Dude I beat in basketball = unwarranted insults for reasons I am not aware of
If I don't do my part in the group project, I'm getting an F for the subject. All because the group itself doesn't want me working on it. Wtf?

Don't worry about the trash talking, he probably just watched garnett or some nba ball recently. You should talk some friendly trash talk yourself if you are capable of taking over the game like that

Well for one, I really hate dissing people. I know I'm good playing basketball in my place, but I'm 100% sure I'm going to get my ass handed to me if I manage to play collegiate basketball in the USA.
I don't feel like I have the right to talk trash when I'm not even close to being one of the top collegiate basketball players on the planet.

I was waiting for this half-way through your post =P A while back I had a realization that I'd like to share that might help you. I was encountering a lot of shady people that had ill-intent and were very destructive. For a while I used to beat myself up over it - asking questions like "How can they be like that, when they know they are wrong?". I used to have arguments with them (them = some friends / family members), but it never made a difference.
So, I took a step back from them. I focused on my life and where I wanted to go for myself. Even though I didn't have a lot of contact with them, they still persisted with being in my business, sometimes getting violent. I could resort to violence at this point, but I don't want to stoop to that level. Instead realizing that everything in life won't be smooth sailing. Not all people will be friendly. At times I will get beat up / insulted and I will be sad about it. But I need to accept that as a part of life, instead of trying to hide from it and live a pain-free existence. I made a vow not to strike back, but I will not be turned away from living my life. No matter what comes at me. Hope this post has helped you in some way.

Prolly a tiny reference to that famous basketball player. If it was meant to imply anything it was that he thinks your good at basketball. Way to make an awkward situation out of a fickle transient hello. For someone with no interest in joinning the basketball team the way you type about your court experience shows a fierce spirit to win but again coupled with you not wanting to join the real team makes it seem like you just want to look good.
Btw if a group of a girls friends joins her on your "date" then it's not really date. Especially if you leave cause you are the only two talking. Then it's super not a date.
Also if you think that's a rant, just wait till life really shits on you. So far things seem to be going good for you, the way you condescendingly type about everyone else around you, so gl maintaining all that.

Today, I was walking down the street, a dragon attacked me.
I drop kicked that dragon right in the fucking face, sent him crashing to the floor crying to mommy.
A bunch of really hot super model chicks saw me and they were so impressed that they started just rubbing my arms and legs and making out with my penis.
When I got home I had a brand new BMW that I won from a local raffle, which is pretty weird because I don't even remember entering! Then Vanessa Hudgens came over and sat on my face.
We flew to Maui together, drank coconut spritzers on the beach while we snorted cocaine and hung out with Charlie Sheen.
We partied with Sheen all night and then had a barbecue in this little alcove on the ocean. The waves were lapping up against the rocks, it was really relaxing.
God... you guys don't want to hear about my problems any way... sorry for this long rant, I just needed to vent about my shitty day.

Back on topic, I hate it when two guys have to compete for a girl, especially when you had her already. Hope that jackass doesn't get to you though.

5'10" is pretty average nowadays. I'm not nearly as tall as a bunch of other guys I know.
I don't like practicing, so I am absolutely not cut out for the basketball team.
I don't tally, we have somebody who tallies for us. Why do we tally stats in a pick-up basketball game? It's for bragging rights among us friends. I take the game seriously, but I have absolutely no intent to keep practicing it everyday [if I join the team]. It's just too tiring on my part.
