It might feel slightly watered down compared to BW, but it's still Starcraft nonetheless and is still a treat to play. Also, as people had said previously in the thread, you'd want to upgrade your computer anyways to handle the new games coming out in the market.

P.S. LOL at the person who said more and more SC2 people are leaving for brood war. I love brood war, I hope it still lives on in some form (blizz no lawsuit plz) but honestly outside of korea its dieing and its sad to see an end to such a great era. edit:adding a word

Isn't this the 2nd part of SC as a whole? by then, blizzard should have a great deal of knowledge on how to make the game more lovable especially by the LOYAL fans of the 10 year old game. And even if you say it's a different game altogether, the concept that made SC:BW live on even after the world has gotten over it has to be included in SC2 like competitive maps, functional ladder without bonus points, International Connectivity, LAN. Poeple keep saying that it's the 1st part of SC2, but I think blizzard made you think its the 1st part of SC. Making you forget what Broodwar did for the success of SC2.

I'm personally struggling to get even into Masters(2,9k Diamond, slumping even. God it's annoying to lose massive amounts of overall bad games) and I maybe get one really good game in a week when I play 15-20 games a day. I play Zerg so that might affect both my struggling and the "epic" feeling. Anyway, before Masters you generally still see games where two Balls 1a each other and one wins. Less and less overall, but it's still mostly that. I personally think BW is a bit more enjoyable in LANs and when you play casually with friends, but SC2 is easier to become competitive at and might be more fun being competitive when the games become actually good.

it's not only a lot more accesible, but also a lot more rewarding for a casual(ish) experience than bw, especially considering you already got bw experience and you can go to the gym/play sports when boredom/annoyance kicks in so you'll get both starcraft and exercise :-))

I hate making inflammatory posts, but I honestly wish I had a report button. Virtually every post I've seen of yours is spouting some factual innacuracy about sc2. You make the BW fans of this site look desperate and poisonous to the community. I love BW, I love sc2. There's no reason to come into threads like this and try to ruin both communities by acting like a spoiled child.

It doesn't help that a couple of my friends play the game and talk about it. And when they do all I can say is, "Wow dude, I'd whoop you and I've never played the game before lol". I too was C- iccup, probably could have gotten higher, but I would have to grind out more games and I never really had the dedication for it. Haven't played in 2 years? Me too. IDK man, it gets me excited and wanting to play SC2, but I think for now I'm going to try and concentrate on other hobbies, and save up some money. I'm thinking about checking out SC2 during the summer...

I was actually just stating something I had observed being on this website, and that there were several posts monthly about people from SC2 switching over to BW. I myself made that switch. EDIT also, PM if you want to borrow my SC2 account to try it out. I don't really use it any more.

One just has to view your post history to see all the anti sc2 hate anyway ;p. there has been "starting to play BW" threads for years and years, guess since you are new around here you wouldn't know that though ^^; What do you mean I am new here? You came here 2 months ago I have been here since August(which hasn't been too long but still longer than you). What I mean to say is that SC2 is clearly not a perfect game by the fact that there are people leaving a game with better graphics, easier UI, more people playing, more potential for money to play a game from the 90's. I would just wait until the game is agreed to have better gameplay than BW or at least until Lotv comes out.

This is probably because you need help to switch from SC2 to BW but not the other way around (and judging by the BW community the people who do switch to SC2 probably aren't proud of it lol). You can't make conclusions from a couple of threads in a community of tens of thousands anyway. I don't know why people always think that their anecdotal observations are statistically valid.

I am not trying to be statistically valid. I have an opinion, just like you do. Our opinions on him switching to SC2 was requested for by the OP and I have granted him my opinion. I can give other reasons why I have my opinion but I would rather do them over PM than on this public thread because of the fact that they may offend some.

I mean the starcraft scene obviously, you think when someone registers is the first moment they followed progaming? i've been playing and following BW for years and years stay small
