You should come back and read your blog post in a month or two. You might feel silly; to be honest SC2 division+points only mean as much as you want them to. Just because you got demoted a few times when trying to beat your friend is no reason to quit the entire game --especially over a meaningless number.

Man division doesn't mean shit. I have seen high golds dominate diamonds and other strange stipulations.

My advice for you.. just stop giving a shit. Play those games, pretend those numbers arent there, and kick the shit out of people.

It's a game, play because you like the game, not because there's a sweet ass picture next to your name or because your e-peen blizzard system determined 'my dick is huge' score is higher than the next person's, and vice versa regarding not playing.

Do you get a hard-on when you stim a group of marines over poorly micro'd mutalisks?
Does the idea of completely mindfucking your opponent and dominating the map while taking him in battles make you estatic?
Do you get pumped when you watch a replay or a GSL and you say to yourself "That's exactly what I would have done out of that situation, that's fucking awesome!"

If so, than who gives a shit about your rank, it's just that, a silly rank.

Odd reason to quit. This isn't WoW where a thousand people stare at your ratings every day by the AH and you're always in a massive flaming war / epeen contest with everyone "good".

I don't even care about my league at all and I was a total rating whore in WoW even.

You need to chill, if you're on a losing streak don't keep playing! you're not having fun while losing so much and you're losing a lot of points that you care about! i once lost 16 times in a row in MASTERS... and now I'm a 3100 masters toss :D it's all about confidence! trust me!.

Everyone here seems focused on bashing the guy for making his own choice, yet hardly anyone has mentioned the fact that its absolutely retarded if he actually got demoted while sitting at 2700 pts in diamond. How can someone possibly be demoted when they are that high in diamond? It's blowing my mind how this could even happen.....
