Lets get real. at your age, a year is a lifetime.
Realistically, the only way to keep her as your GF at the end of the year was to preemptively tell her before she left to go to the other school

But now its too late and really you have no reason to be pissed off. Expecting a 17 year old girl to stay in a long distance monogamous relationship for a year is pretty damn unrealistic.

And something my wife and I worked out is that we always put each others feelings first no matter what. If I get upset about something she is doing on FB or wherever, she stops. Done. And vice versa. Sometimes both of us feel at times that the other might be a little overboard. But this type of relationship is foolproof in my eyes.

Just stop talking to her. Imo she's not worth your time, so why even bother informing her that you're dumping her? She'll figure it out eventually when you're "in a relationship" with someone else on facebook.
I've found this is the best way to do it from experience, if the girl is the type you're describing she is. If she's someone with integrity she deserves a proper dumping. If she doesn't have any integrity at all she deserves nothing at all, which is what you should give her.
