Friends and I at work had a competition for the rubiks cube. Out of 5 programmers in the room, 3 of us knew how to do it. I actually got last at 35 seconds, one coworker was 29 seconds, the other 24.

It's definitely a fun skill to have.

Rubik's cube is a fad thats been making a small comeback, nobody intelligent will care. Invest your energy in learning something else.

You know what's funny? I've always wanted to solve one myself so I asked for one for xmas. I sat there on Xmas day while the rest of the family was watching a movie and I solved it in about an hour after I opened the package. I felt like the man also!
