Does anyone like, find playing SC2 kinda lonely
Maybe i'm just weird and am used to playing Xbox where I'd play FPS with parties of 3+ people (or at least one person to talk to) but I can't stand playing SC2 right now
Which is weird on its own because I barely play at all (so I guess as a side topic, how do i get myself to play more).
Anyway, does anyone like, play while on Skype or TS or Vent or somethings similar, or do the majority of you guys just play on your own oO.

Also anyone wanna be starcwaft friends lol

OKAY FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE I SEE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT

There's a teamliquid teamspeak server that probably some people play on. I don't like voice chatting though (I'd rather listen to music).

With the introduction of channels the loneliness can hopefully be alleviated somewhat.

You really think typing to a group of strangers is more intimidating than speaking to a group of strangers? That seems kind of reversed to me...

P.S. what's with all the "w"

P.P.S. if you're looking for SC2 friends it would probably be helpful to include information like skill level or interests (are you interested in 1v1, 2v2, custom games, etc.)

or pick a girl name and I'm sure you'll have a billion people asking to be your friend I guess judging by my bnet experiences.

No haha I meant that speaking on teamspeak seems intimidating

w because I'm running on little sleep and i thought it would be amusing

skill level or interests, uh.
I'm a bronze player Oo. 1v1 and getting better would be nice. And motivation to play

I think I already did that part... O.O

You can make private channels on teamspeak I believe - you don't have to be talking to every TLer who's on it.

You could consider participating in something like this as both a way of getting better and perhaps giving you motivation: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=183713

Try joining teamliquid or teamliquid2 or whatever channel you have to join and then you can ask for other bronze level players and split off into a small group or whatever. I unfortunately don't know what if any channels there are out there dedicated to bronze (or any other for that matter) players, but there probably are some.
Finding a group of similar level friends is the best way to care about improving in my experience.

I'm not bronze myself so I don't think games between us would be very fun.

Over time if you play more 2v2 games I'm sure you'll meet people there that want to party up and play more games I met some great people on SC2 that way. Did you add friends you know in real life via the facebook b-net search option?

I'm a bronze level player too, so if you even want to play some 2v2 or some practice 1v1 matches, feel free to add me. I'm my user name is yangsook and my friend code is 302. I'm EST so I'm on usually later at night or on weekends

Enjoy the game, if you're getting lonely or bored with it, take a break and pick it back up again later

I don't have anyone on real ID yet, but i know a few friends (both online and irl) that have the game oO.
I have to download the patch, but i'm Juliette.599 . PST here (and busy with school oO) so I can't play till 6-7 my time.

I think its less being bored and just outright not enjoying cause i don't play oO.

any tips on how to start playing in the first place o.O

Well that's a good start. It's sometimes easier playing with people that you know from real life. Personally, friends from school have helped me a lot with my macro and micro and they are generally enjoyable to play with.

The way you start will depend on your personality and how much you care about your win/loss ratio I guess? Some people start off with the campaign or playing against the computer on various levels of 1v1 play so that they can get use to making units, countering opponents with the proper units, macroing and microing. It will depend on you I started with 1v1 after getting the basics down but quickly switched to 2v2 because I found it was much more enjoyable to play with a few other people.

To be fair, the tournament is intended to be for low level players, so (short of some ass smurfing on a friends account) you'd be playing against similarly low level players. Consider it a goal, if you're not ready to give it a shot yet.

You should consider whether you truly want to get into the game, if you never play it and are very low level . I'm not really clear why you're trying to get into the game, since you apparently don't enjoy it and don't play it already? If you do, then you may check out the following topic, which is chock full of useful info:

Beginner's Guide

If you have specific questions about your play you need answered by higher level players, look at the [L] section of this thread for how to create a thread properly

If he's literally never played multiplayer, I'd recommend at least playing a week before playing the first tourney. Tourneys can be fun, but you should at least know what the various units are first I think.

to OP tournaments are a GREAT way to meet new starcraft friends. Everyone in tournaments is usually really nice and really focused on improvement, which is exactly the kind of starcraft friend you want to make. I would strongly strongly suggest playing in tournaments. Seriously.

I pretty much only play with friends now, while on skype also. Much more fun than doing 1v1s to me anyway

I'll be your friend! (=

I usually play SC2 while I'm on vent with some friends. We have a LOT of 1v1s with everyone else being obs. Pretty fun.

Sometimes I hop onto TL vent too to see whats up, although there aren't always that many people there, and even if there are, they've mostly isolated themselves in individual channels =P

i don't know why i want to get into it either actually :p. i've done most of the campaign, played a handful of ladder 1v1s but i kinda just stopped playing and started watching. I end up just watching a whoooole lot (I just woke up again so i fell asleep through the GosuCoaching PLs sadface; ) and i guess i wanna be able to do something in game o.o

aahah i watch enough to know basics and basic strategy and such, I just have a really difficult time applying them since this is basically my first RTS :[
