Haha, this brings back memories. I use to work in a computer shop as well and some of the people that comes in are just out of this world.
I've had a guy dressed as a MacDonald clown come in and wanted to buy a Macbook.
I've had a chick that offered me a feel to get 100 dollars off.
I've had an Arab guy comes in and keep trying to buy a dude rofl, in the end I figured out he wanted to get some blank dvds.
I agree with OP, people that don't call and expect stock levels and start raging when it is out of stock.
I've had a guy that challenged me to a fight when he can't get a refund on some shit that he broke. I told him to meet me at the car park and I will be out in 5 minutes and the guy didn't even show.

They asked to return gift cards. To get their money back for them.

Such as, it's the holiday season, so people get desperate for products, and there is a lot more people to deal with, so the chances of weird stuff happening increase. Also, there are some strange people out there.
If it was false, the way some of these played out in my head were pretty awesome, so I don't really care.
I especially liked the guy chasing you. Was he angry the whole time or what?

Entertianing, I can't believe that guy put a knife in the Ipad. That sounds truely scarey, you must have #### your self when he first pulled it. What happened did he just walk out and leave. Did you try and keep him there whilst waiting for the police. He's got a knife and acting irationally I think I'd let him go and hope the police can Identify him latter somehow.

One of the funniest things I encounter is pretty much every single laptop sale the customer will say 'I won't be doing anything complex like downloading!'. I always think in my head 'oh good job, we would have to go to the i5s if you were downloading'.
One of my favourite customers was buying a four slice toaster, and gave a good little speech on how annoyed he was that his first two crumpets would get cold when he used his current two slice toaster, and how this was terrible, and how this was why he was buying a four slice toaster. Old people are jjang.
On the discount thing, pretty much 80% of customers say 'what are you throwing in for free?', despite the fact we only make money on extras. One of my colleagues claims to say 'well, I'll throw in a plastic bag and a receipt', lol.

Also, I would suggest changing the name of the title to "Sense of Entitlement" since that's what most of these customers have anyway. Like they deserve free shit that no one else gets. And you should hold one iPad in stock just in case that specific guy walks in. It's just for him!

Can't believe some of the nay-sayers in here. This is exactly how I feel around Christmas and Black Friday. Going somewhere is dangerous because all the fucked up people come out of the woodwork to participate. People drive like they're rushing to the hospital with their dying loved ones. They search the store shelves like they're a military coup raiding the palace.
Everywhere you go, someone is being a huge asshole because they drove for X time or they've been waiting for X time or their mother told them they were a special snowflake. You can't even escape these people at restaurants because they carry their "mememe" attitude over with them everywhere they go.
I've seen a guy get really angry and call for a supervisor because there weren't any "wireless power supplies" in stock (yup, power supplies without a cable so he could move his desk around the room [it has wheels, after all]). And that was just on some random day of the year, nothing to do with Christmas or Black Friday.

(I am talking with a customer when my co-worker interrupts.) "Sir have you ever been to a third world country?" "He says yes, why?" My co-worker asks if people ask for discounts over there or if its just here, because foreigners had been asking us for discounts all day.
As a matter of fact, in many countries, asking for a discount is really normal. Just like it's not normal everywhere to always tip in restaurants.

about that comment about third world countries, it's true. you'll always get ripped off off there if you buy at face price. always bargain down. this is partly why some vendors don't even list prices.
