I think the number one priority for you would be the mixing, how to get those bassfrequencies and the synth frequencies in the right places to make it sound more crisp. Also for inspiration to shape the song structures and overall athmosphere more complex and interesting I'd suggest that you listen a ton of Platipus stuff. For example. Also people nowadays seem to be forgetting what a wonderful tool Sampling is. You know taking a part of someone elses song and using it in a completely new and unique style. The basis of many house songs and the basis of older big classics like Li Kwans Point Zero, Orkideas Unity etc etc etc. Just listen what Ali Wilson did with Tribal chanting and what a huge song it was last summer. Constructing a song entirely on a sample is the way to go. If you just slap a lone vocal sample or some retarded guitar riff on otherwise complete song just ruins it. For me at least.

Constructing beat, adding bass, adding a synth line or two, breakdown and uplift into chorus. The problem is, this has been done over 9000 times already with those exact sounds you are using. Good job for a beginner though, I take it you haven't been producing a whole lot since the mixing is way off. And yeah i know the mixing is a bit off the problem is that mixing is pretty much the hardest part for me i dont know how to get that good sound/frequencies but imma try to learn it ![]() On December 28 2010 03:47 Hakker wrote: I really like it, it seems like your on the right track with the song, and you have an excellent progression. My only gripe is that it feels shallow, there arent alot of sounds going on besides the big pads. but i listened to some of your other stuff so i suspect thats just because you're still working on it. Yeah the problem is that i easily get bored fast after a while and kinnda "give up" and start on something new... I need to be more stubborn and put more effort in my tracks... =) ill try to finish this one. Thanks Chill :D It's not done yet though ! I'll try to finish it soon (as mentioned)
