Niten United States598 Posts December 08 2010 22:49 GMT #1 So... I intern once a week (wed) at Mainichi Newspapers, the oldest Japanese news company with a 4mil circulation. The NYC bureau chief wanted me to look for some interesting stories, and I threw out the idea of doing something on professional gaming. I'm always looking for ways of doing something for the community, but being unemployed and having a select and unrelated skill set (Japanese -> English translation) affords me little excess money or opportunity to really pitch in. I hope this works out. If they go for it, I'd like to request interviews with some of the staff and members of TL. Nothing is solid yet, but the bureau chief was definitely interested. Just writing this to give you a heads up.

A bit of information on them: Official Website: www.mainichi.jp The Mainichi Newspapers, the oldest and one of the leading Japanese national daily newspapers, has a daily circulation of 4 million copies and has more than 130 years of experience in the field of journalism. Its New York office mainly covers the United Nations, American politics and culture, Major League Baseball, and other major events happening mainly in the eastern United States and Canada. Simply put: I would love to get some interviews for statements on growing western e-sports. If you'd like to volunteer to talk to Mainichi, gimme a PM so we can work out a schedule! I'm very excited about this.
