Hey guys, I'm a SC2 player who is looking for a multi-player game that I can play with a group of friends. While SC2 is fun at all, it doesn't appeal to some of my friends that hate RTS for some reason. What I'm looking for is a decent game that costs less than 30 bucks 6-8 people can play together. Any suggestions?

Buy one of the Left 4 Dead 2 packs on steam for zombie killing fun (up to 4 at a time i think)
any FPS usually has good multiplayer: borderlands for campaigns, COD, unreal tournament etc for FFA type stuff

Worms Armageddon is great.
Don't get Worms 2 though.

Well...6-8 players basically requires the game being a shooter or some kind of mmo. I think so at least. Obviously WoW is a lot of fun with your friends if that's your kind of thing. Left 4 Dead, as kofgokuon said is a great amount of fun...Halo is great if you like it. Lost Planet 2 is actually surprisingly fun with friends but it only supports 4 at a time. I do agree with trozz, worms is awesome. Sorry I couldn't think of anything else! GLHF :D

I've had a lot of fun with l4d2 with friends and hidden (hl2 mod) as well if you're into that sort of thing.

Your friends are noobs and should be dealt with appropriately. However, you can instead play TF2. I have clocked up hundreds of hours messing about with friends in that game. Highly recommend it. The L4D games are pretty fun also.

Team Fortress 2. 20$ on steam. If you don't mind going old school, Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a good shooter for free. Also, you could try League of Legends and play inhouse 3v3's or 4v4s. It's also free.

League of Legends is so much fun, but your friends may confuse it for an RTS since you don't have first person view of your character.

I would have said dirt 2 when it was on sale for FIVE DOLLARS during the steam thanksgiving sale. Also got Arkham Asylum for 10, awesome game. Uhhh, team fortress 2, counterstrike, swat 4 would actually be really sick, they had some 4v4 deathmatch thing, looked awesome. Diablo, minecraft (lol at a minecraft lan, I'm imagining people picking a picture out of a hat to make). Mario Kart if you have a wii.

Diablo 2 get it! Very nice party game, your friends can join your party in quests and isn't expensive like wow, where you have paid subscription.

I would also suggest LoL you can queue with 5a 5 person team against strangers or play against eachother as limonovich suggested. The only problem is that if one of you plays alot more he will get abit of an advantage until you are all lvl 30.

Edit: If someone gets confused they can always turn on camera lock.
