Today I was playing some touch football on some wet grass. I pulled a juke move and my feet slipped from under me, and ended up landing hard on the grass (where i live the ground is hard as pavement). Not to look like a puss i jumped back up and finished the game. An hour later I started feeling dizzy and my vision was getting blurry. I had also gotten a bad head ache and started getting nauseous. After about an hour of laying in the fetal position I felt well enough to get up and saw a doctor, who diagnosed me with a concussion. Worst injury I have ever sustained in my life both physicly and emotionally ( I mean i didnt even get touched wth)

Im thinking about investing in cleats....

Ah well concussions aren't that bad in my opinion (only had a minor once though). My worst injury is my damn ankle. Broke some bones in it ones so now I sprain pretty much when ever I try to play any of the sports i was good at (volleyball / handball) because they involve a lot of jumping and balancing. Same with my fingers I sprain them all the time when I've tried to get back in to those sports. This is mostly emotional though since I was in the junior national team in volleyball and got third in the national championship i handball so.. kinda sucked.

Concussions are a serious injury, they're just shrugged off for the exact reason that Quake stated: To not look like a puss. It's a poisonous mentality in the sports world that concussions are a minor injury.

Definitely need to protect your head better dude. If you get multiple concussions, it starts to cause permanent damage. Remember your symptoms in case you get in a similar situation, you'll know what's going on.

Concussions are super deadly. This is no joke, man! I'm glad you got it taken care of, and take it easy for a while until you've gotten used to your diminished brain capacity.

Concussions aren't always apparent when they happen though. It's very possible he could have fallen the same way and not received a concussion. The symptoms he got later were a very clear sign that it had happened though. I'd say he did the right thing.

Conussions vary a lot in seriousness. Sometimes, the effects won't even last that long. Other times, problems could appear a long time after you think you've recovered.

The only advice I can say is don't tell your freinds. They will push you and laugh their asses off as you can't keep your balance and fall, no matter how lightly they tap you.

Or at lest thats what happened on my wrestling team everytime someone got a concussion. In retrospect, it was probaly cruel but, meh, that was just the way it was.

I hope you feel better man. I remember reading in some magazine about something like this. If you happen to fall really hard, then stay down for a bit, otherwise you may suffer something nasty If you get up too quick.
Also, Investing in cleats would be a good idea too. Anything you can do to prevent a similar situation from happening again, I guess.

Had a really bad concussion once, couldn't work for a month and got dizzy everywhere i went, was throwing up a lot for the first 2 weeks. Got a scan to make sure i didn't sustain any brain damage. Funny thing is that i didn't realize till like 2hrs later when i could barely stand. So i know your pain but thankfully yours wasn't as serious but if you feel dizzy(lightheaded or whateva) take it easy for the next little bit.

Sounds like a bad concussion.

Get somebody to keep waking you up ever 2-3 hours. Sometimes people with bad concussions go to sleep and never wake up(go into a coma)

You really need to get your priorities in order mate. Do you want to look cool and be dead, or look like a pussy and be alive?

I think people who wear a bicycle helmet look fucking ridiculous, but I wear one myself because I'd rather look like a pussy and be alive than look cool as fuck and be dead.
