No one said studying 24 hours straight was good for you either. Forget about actual health, studying for 24 hours straight means that you won't be getting all the information down, and you will be forgetting stuff, unable to fully comprehend things, etc. It's much better to space out your studying. Of course, most people who study for 24 hours straight probably do so because they are cramming, which in itself is stupid. Nevertheless, a situation is created where it becomes necessary to study for so long. At this point, continuous studying could be the best option. But where is the necessity in playing for 26 hours straight? If not the obsession factor, I can't see a way in which taking a break to eat, drink, or sleep would not be better, both for overall enjoyment of the day and health in general. This would be a feat if it were set up as an event, like Raelcun's end of beta cast or something. When David Blaine does his endurance stunts, no one says, "omg that's unhealthy ![]() ![]() It's ridiculous to praise someone who sits down and plays for 26 hours. Of course it's cool to you. Some naked guy jumping from the rooftop of one moving car to the next would be cool to me too, but that doesn't make it right. I feel like we owe our fellow TL member some more respect. At least he recognizes that what he's doing isn't right.

Just because some people do it doesn't mean this sort of behaviour should be endorsed, least of all praised. The OP (or anybody else) should at least have a few breaks to eat or drink next time he thinks of doing something like this, and you're trying to defend people congratulating him for ignoring his bodily needs? Can we use some common sense please and remember that forum communities aren't just about proving people wrong.

I'm confused. wtf is auckland? anyways I KNOW that its unhealthy for me to do this. i'm not looking for praise. i'm posting this to vent my frustration of my addiction for starcraft. i wanted to stop at like at least 3-4 am but i kept playing. i think i could have handled more, but i couldnt even see properly so i took a break. like i said, i wanted to quit starcraft for ages but addiction keeps bringing me back

Although that is probably not healthy, I cannot say I have not done the same thing with different games, although I ate.

People like you suddenly die, it goes into the news, and then we all get a bad rep. It's because of people like you that in my Congress Debates, I actually have a bill that says, "Due to the number of video game related deaths, game manufacturers should be obligated create timers that will turn off a game for an allotted time after a person has played x hours." It's okay, Student Congress is illegit anyways. But I mean I think it's probably granted that the OP recognizes that 26 hours of gaming straight is not such a great idea, just saying it's stupid won't help him much...

The thing about the guinness record is bull... lots of kids in korea play way more than 50+ hours straight ive stayed up for 60+ hours playing diablo2 with my friends but never starcraft... it stresses me out too much lol and i took breaks to eat and drink.. the bill came out to around 50 bucks with 20 spent on food and 30 for the 2 nights + how many ever hours left - hours gained from mileage lol mad props to you for pulling this off, i think id rather go jump off a tall building if somebody told me to play sc for 26 hours straight

For your own sake, I'd highly suggest not doing that again.
