So some of you may know my from my stream and everything, you may know i tend to be erratic with how i treat ladder, throwing away games if i make a mistake, sometimes sticking out til the very end just for fun, and making my opponent look like trash when i win due to my style of play and how i just wait for them to give up.
I really hate blizzard for demoting a 1500 diamond (i finally hit 1500 after a big win streak, i don't ladder much). now i am #1 plat with 1400 points and no one i play is near diamond level, blizzard arbitraily took away my practice method forcing me to now custom game to get any practice and my diamond rank (only mattered to me for entering tournaments that are "diamond only")
now this is a crappy circle, i can either power ladder games, that don't help me at all to attempt to get back to diamond (30 wins later and not diamond yet, so i feel like i need to win 100+ games for it to send me back up)in order to be able to practice at diamond level on ladder, or just use custom games and be excluded from alot of the random open tournaments that i like to enter to get my name out there and have fun.
So i'm stuck in ladder-limbo because of what i assume is an error in the MMR? Unless it really thought a 1500 diamond player that wins 60% of his games at the 1500 level is actually as good as a platinum level. I just feel way too discouraged to try anything until the next season of ladder because of that crappy MMR. I'd have to play so many games to prove my MMR to it since it thinks i'm plat after 500ish ladder games.
So thats what i'm upset about. being higher ranked than morrow (as zerg) never having a loss streak more than 6 games(was quitting at first mistake), and never having a day where i lost more than won, and now a platinum ranked person. Rank never mattered to me, in terms of the number and rating next to your name, just the diamond symbol because of the ability to enter tournaments, so i would often just practice new things on ladder then bring it into customs to perfect.
I miss my rank, blizzard give it back.
EDIT: to fully explain the sequence of events: got to 1500, lost 3 games won 5 lost 1 won 1, stopped playing for midterms. logged back in on a friday to play in omfg.tv's showmatch thing and it told me i was plat.
all in all i just wanted to express my frustration with the ladder system to TL and explain to my fans and viewers why exactly i haven't been streaming lately. watching me beat a player who a moves marines into banelings isn't exactly entertaining.

on another note, i'm going to start describing my skill level in terms of top players off races as well.

Keep laddering and you'll get it back. You probably lost to players with low MMR consistently; I believe this is how Blizzard tests which league you should be in. I don't think it'll be very difficult for you to get promoted again. On the bright side, your points will probably mostly carry over. So enjoy getting the easy ones while you can.

haha, i was only doing a comparison, no matter my loss streak, falling from 2100 to 1400 is a much larger loss streak, and i don't see why i would drop down to plat for a big win streak.
EDIT: at wolf, probably, i do lose to protoss alot.

Did they demote you for being inactive on ladder or you just had a terrible losing streak? Either way you'll be back in diamond if you really are a diamond level player. Goodluck dude

I'm confused. Am I getting this right? So you were diamond 1500, played a bunch of games while winning, and got demoted?
If thats so thats pretty shitty. Also dont see how the hell it would happen, outside of some crazy bug in MMR, which since you are playing pretty crappy people is what seemed to have happened. 
Like your stream, helped me with my zerg a lot. Havent watched it in awhile though.

You threw away games with a unique ladder style -- and then wondered why the MMR system gets confused? You're not being totally fair.
Sure I'm shocked that you're demoted, but you're not using the ladder "as intended." If you rank truly doesn't mean anything to you to the point that you'll just leave games, why do you worry about it so much? If you leave games you're going to be placed against lesser players when you do play a "real game" than you would anyways, resulting in easier wins.
I also don't think you understand how the match making works. You claim you played 30 games since demotion and they were all stupid easy vs terrible plat players? You're 30-0 for your last 30 games? Unlikely, you're probably 20-10.

i'm 30-5 in plat. lost to 4 all ins and 1 game where i fatfingered the explosion hotkey on banelings in a zvz. haven't played anyone diamond in any of them.
EDIT: pretty much i don't care about anything other than the league and who it matches me up against. if i was 100th diamond with 0 points but playing 1500-1700 point diamond players. that is having worst possible diamond rank but playing the same opponents as before the drop, i'd be happy.

I call bullshit. You get demoted for loosing games against opponents that are worse then you. Keep in mind - winning against a 1600 diamond or a 600 plat is way more different then to be explained as a win.

mine too, i was always a fan of BW and never a player, so i decided to play and i would just do the same strategies i saw the pros use in korea and be terrible at them lol.

What was your Diamond League like? Were you in a league of hell or something so that 1500 was the lower 1/2 of the ladder? That combined with cumulated losses over time may have knocked you down.

divisions have no effect on you MMR, and there is only one diamond league per server. His MMR and delta dropped to the point where the system was fairly confident he should be plat, and so now he is in plat. Now that he is winning a lot his MMR is going up slowly, and his delta is increasing quickly so theoretically you should start getting better opponents soon. Once you get your MMR up and start losing games to other 1500~ diamond players the delta should drop and you will get promoted.

issue was having a 60% win rate at the 1500 level and then getting dropped to plat after a big winning run.
EDIT: it's not that i have an issue with it, more than i think it's the dumbest thing to have happen. its nonsensical, i may have been losing to worse protoss players (my worst matchup and the only matchup i lose consistantly, i do extremely well vs T and Z) though but still it doesn't seem to make sense.

Just like in iccup you can have a winning record while losing points, right?
It just seems irrational to assume the system has an error without knowing for sure.

i didn't assume the system has an error. i just am frustrated at the result. some mod turned the name into "MMR error" not me.

I'm confused you say you win 60% of your games at 1500 level, yet your record is 220 - 214. It looks to me you're right where you should be, hovering between low diamond and top plat.
I don't watch your stream so am I missing something?

ah i lost alot of games in the past. i keep a spreadsheet of wins/losses weekly. and the week i was there i was at 60% win rate (excluding the 100% win rate that sunday) i've never had a week or day below 50% except within a month of release. where i lost around 120 games and won about 50. due to my practice methods.
EDIT: pretty much, i won 60% at 1500 but all 434 games were not at 1500 level, only about 10-20 were. and i say 1500 level where that is where I was, i tended to play opponents from just below me at 1350ish to above me at 1700.

I got to diamond at around 25 games, never loss to plat and gold (started in Gold, then after 10 games got promoted to plat then an additional 15 games got me to diamond.)
the thing is I'm being matched up against diamond 1100 to 1300 players. Man, I think next opponent would be around 1500 pts so I'm crossing my fingers here. (I'm just a 500 diamond rank player here)
I don't know why you say the system is broken but I know for a fact you can exploit the MMR a little bit.
