Here's all the stuff from last time:+ Show Spoiler +

UPDATE October 12th, 2010 - Just curious if there is any interest in us attempting the FFA goal over the stream. Due to the nature of the current Funday Monday objective I don't know that we can do custom games with a bunch of iCCup casters unfortunately, and if everyone is doing it I don't think it results in very amazing game play. I am thinking of ways to do it and be fun even if it may "void" the potential to be on Day9 but it would still be fun to play and inspired by Funday Monday. Current thoughts are things like 5-player FFA, and we select 2 people at random who have to follow the Funday Monday, and only the players who are actually doing it know that they are while everyone else is playing normally.

Well, we didn't make it onto the Daily but that doesn't mean it wasn't fun. Here are some highlights from the stream. In the future I'll break the VODs up per game probably.

Here are highlights of the VODs of the one's that I submitted to Mr. Plott:

#13 - Warp Prism, Zealot, Marine, Ultralisk - http://ustre.am/_GjdK:tpD
#21 - Raven, Marine, Hydralisk, Baneling - http://ustre.am/_GjGp:tpE
#26 - Zerglings, Zerglings, Zerglings, Zerglings - http://ustre.am/_Gkkn:tpH

BONUS!
#7 - Planetary Fortress, Zealot, Mothership, Pheonix - http://ustre.am/_GiOz:tpJ

This Friday, at around 8PM EDT (time isn't entirely hard set yet, may be earlier may be a bit later) - me and a few other folks from the lovely crew at iCCup.TV will be attempting Day9's Funday Monday objective for this week - summary as follows:

In a team game (either 3v3 or 4v4) - each player on your team must announce (in ALL chat) the one unit that they will use in that game and use only that unit. You are still allowed to make Queens, Overlords/Overseers, SCVs/Probes/Drones, and Observers.

WHAT: iCCup.TV Staff and Friends attempt Day9's Funday Monday challenge.

WHERE: [image loading] iCCup TV on Ustream

WHEN:
Saturday, Oct 23 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)

WHO: iCCup.TV casters and friends.

We may also have some audience members join us again.

We will likely have some plans of our own to achieve this goal, but we will also be doing it for a while so it's very likely we will be taking suggestions from the stream as well. Goal of this is to just have fun and maybe give Mr. Plott something worth getting excited about.

we've been devising some brilliant ideas as opposed to just 4 people massing marine. cant wait!

glhf to the iccup.tv players.

Sounds great. Unfortunately I promised to pick up someone 1hr into it (3AM CEST), but hopefully I'll catch most of it.

This kind of initiative is really what is needed to make funday monday even better. I'm definitely excited.

I'm hoping to see someone successfully choose mothership as their unit (protected by allies and cannons early on ofc).

So epic. Should be highly entertaining. If I happen to be doing nothing else on Friday night, I'll totally be watching. I can see this being surprisingly effective actually, haha.

I don't get this funday monday. This is what most of the lower level 3v3 and 4v4 are, the only diffrence being now you have to announce what the unit you are massing will be.

You have to announce it and you can't build other units to support it. And I doubt Day9 will go with the group that masses marine/marauder/voidrays. Gotta be creative with it.

The point is to have fun. If you always just mass marines, then try something different. Try massing ghosts and see how efficient you can be with snipes + emps. Try seeing if you're able to rush to carrier + bc + broodlord in 3v3. Do whatever you think could be fun. If you do not think this kind of thing is fun just don't participate (I won't as I don't really like playing team games, but it'll be a blast watching what others can come up with).

Mass Infestor would be soooo much fun if you could get the gas to support it. Just burrow-move like 30 Infestors into a base and unleash shitloads of Infested Terrans. =D

Going t3 is too easy they're too powerfull when massed lol.

Win combination of my 4on4 yesterday was sentries/medivacs(with PF)/ghosts with nukes/zerglings.
All other games went lost (10 games or so).

I would totally try doing this with orb/shiver/joshsuth since we've done 4v4's as a tema before lol, and thats how we always play our games is everyone only makes 1 unit, but hard to coordinate all being online, and so busy with school =\

Yeah, JoshSuth is going to be at IEM or whatever so he is ducking us.

We may try to bring in some pros if they are willing, who knows but I think it will be fun regardless.

As I have 3 midterms (1 thursday, 2 friday) I'll definitely be up for playing all Friday night. Just message me through Bnet. Will be fun.

And the point of the Funday is to do it with a weird unit composition. I've found that you have to have one person mass T1 in early game (Marines, Lings, etc) while other 3 tech quickly. Cannons are a plus too. Me and a few of the vVv guys tried it last night for a few games. It's harder than it looks to win with a weird combination.

Just kicking this up again, I think it's going to be a lot of fun - we will see how things go. I think we may even be finishing the showmatch of CatZ vs Taurent that was interrupted due to Battle.net issues though that hasn't ben set in stone yet and isn't absolute. Though I do intend to have something as sort of a break in the middle even though 3v3/4v4 shenanigans are always fun.

Why don't you guys just have two players make nothing but tier one units (one offensive, one support type) and have the other two players give all of their mineral/gas to the first two.

The other two players use the time to tech to tier three and then the first two players will use all of their mineral/gas to support the two teched players.

I want to see the one where raelcun AND FuriousJodo ran their entire armies into a nuke cause it was "cloaked" by another nuke : D

Or the mothership / Helion /Baneling / banshee one, where they realized after 5 min they had no anti air ^.^

That was an awesomely fun stream

Here's a screen shot of all the replays/titles - please give us ideas on which one you guys think were the best, the VODs should also be up @ iccuptv on Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/iccuptv). I didn't really break them up for the most part, so it may be hard to find the actual games in here:

Mad props to you guys for doing this, but it's almost unwatchable from the stream or ustream.tv because the perspective is from a player that spends most of his time macroing. We can never see any of the battles!

That's pretty much what I was gonna say.

My vote goes to those two games as well.

Edit: I was also thinking of "holy canoli" game (26) while writing this and didn't realize that the quote only addressed game 21. But yeah game 21 was probably the best.

Ok, so here is my list so far:

Game #1 - Warp Prisms, Banelings, Stalkers, Ravens - Ok, Banelings and Ravens do most of the work, prism/cannons did some interesting stuff, and Stalkers were normalish and did a lot of killing as well

Game #3 - Immortals/Archons/Ultras/Vikings <-- We kind of ROFL stomped these guys so I don't know that this one is particularly interesting.

Game #13 - ZealotMarineUltraPrism <---Defending against nukes, warp prism really active this game

Game #17 - Templar/Hydra/Muta/Immortal <--- Vs some people from the caht, so double Funday Monday builds (Marauder/Sentry/Thor/Marine) is the other team.

Game #21 - Baneling/Hydra/Raven/Marine <-- As said before, "are u japanese" and mass turrets do a ton of damage, in addition to banelings and marines, Hydra's as well.

Game #22 - Hellion/Banshee/Mothership/Baneling <-- This is the one where we didn't make anti-air - it was going really well until they got air. Drags out quite a bit though.

Game #24/25 are Marine/Marine/Marine/Marine, and in both we pretty much just decimated the other team - it was actually pretty frightening.

Game #26 - Zergling/Zergling/Zerglin/Zergling <-- This one was pretty entertaining actually, "holy canolli!" and all that.

Front runners are #1, #21, #26 imo but curious what you guys think.

I think game #13 and game #21 were the best, it's hard to choose between them. Game #13 with the nukes, cannons and the chat with that Hydra guy was pretty awesome though, so I think you should choose that one.

have to say I think #7 mass pf in enemies base should be submitted for fun,
don't quite get why not cannons instead of turrets in #22 , #26 was great, and #21 a good choice as well.

You guys didn't do enough games with Mothership. Mothership + splash damage unit = auto-win. And you gave up too easily on the cloaked planetary fortress rush idea. Also SCV repair on mothership.

I also just wanted to say, that I fully intend to try to do this again as long as the Funday Monday objective is something that can be done for fun on a stream. Don't know if I would do it for the individual builds or anything like that - but if it's team based in any way, I definitely would.

Well, the idea is that some arbitrary thing (like me) would decide who is attacking who.

Alright guys - time to bring this back. We may try some stuff from last time, but I'd like to exhaust more options and variety this time.

Awesome! The last time you guys did this, it was probably one of the most fun 8-hour-insanity I've had in a while

As a suggestion, I would say have 1 person go reapers w/ speed, and another person with immortals. At the X (15 maybe?) minute mark, T and P go to separate bases, and see who clears it out first!

if i manage to get a bunch of friends to do this, i think it'd be hilarious and awesome to do ghost/ghost/ghost/ghost and just have a craaazy amount of snipes/emps. or alternatively, templarx4 or infestorx4. obviously the problem with all of these is making it to the point in the game in which you each have three million vespene (i.e. never), but that's okay because the goal is so awesome that if it works it would be the best ever.
anyway, just thought i'd share in case it inspired anyone else to try the spellcasterx4 mayhem.

Just bumping this as we will be going live in about 2 hours - bit sooner. 6PM PST or PDT or whatever the current one is. It's 4:19PM for me right now.

Also - I want to watch Boxer vs NaDa so the stream will be going on a bit of an intermission while that happens. (And no, we won't be restreaming it)
