Let me say this at the top, this is not some sort of sympathy thread. If you feel the need to share it, go for it.

First things first, I won't make you read a long ass group of paragraphs to find out if the title made you curious. I officially have quite a few brain tumors.

A few years back, 2006 if I remember right. I was sitting in a class at Highschool when I suddenly had this very strange feeling, it's tough to describe. If you've ever passed out without the "use" of alcohol you know what I'm talking about. Ko'd during class, what was better it was a health class so at least my teachers knew what to do. Oh, I also seizured a bit on the way down. I went to the University hospital near me, they did a few tests, took some blood and let me go. Heard nothing back from that.

Jump ahead a few months, I was about to hop in the shower before going to work when I got that feeling again. Now that I knew what was coming, I don't remember but I called down to my mom and she found me passed out on the floor. Pale as a ghost and eyes rolled in the back of my head, it took about 5 minutes before I was able to wrap my mind around what had happened so I could sit up. We instantly went to see my Doctor (who after the first episode said to get a hold of him if this ever happens again).

Now, lets step back to the first episode for a second (I'm doing it like this for a reason ). When I got to the hospital, I wasn't rushed to emerg but saw the triag nurse almost instantly. She started to take my blood pressure (by the way, I have an extremly low blood pressure to begin with. Keep that in mind if you're reading all of this), and there came the feeling once again. I was able to stay conscience this time because she laid me down on the floor. Step back to me being at my Doctors office a few months later. He's doing a whole bunch of little tests, checking my temperature and what not. Starts to take my blood pressure and the same thing happened as last time. Completely pale, and they put me down on the floor to keep my conscience. (Anyone seeing a pattern here?). 911 was called, and I was taken by ambulance to the University hospital once again. Although this time I was on a stretcher and had two paramedics around me.

Now it may have been cruel, but because of my low blood pressure I can almost instantly drop my heartrate down 20-40bmp. That freaked the two of them out, so I stopped doing that. They did a whole bunch of tests on me like the first time, except this time they did a follow up.

Jump ahead a few weeks, back at my Doctors to get some test results. I'm sent to go get an MRI, EEG, ECG and Holter Monitor. (If you're unsure of any of those, I can link here or you can google either/or.) The later three all came back normal, I'm not epileptic, I have a normal heart rate and it doesn't vary. We get the MRI results back, and they think they've made a mistake as a white blotch was seen. They send me back for another one, a few months later. Oh, I was also told by my doctor something like this "Well, we either made a mistake. You could have a tumor or possibly brain cancer. Let's jump ahead 6 months, with that thought always on my mind.

Time to time travel again, second MRI. By this time, I enjoy the sound the machine makes because of the way I am I was making mental scenes in my mind to it. Couple weeks pass and I get the results back. Turns out that it wasn't a mistake, and the same white blotch is still there, it's grown slightly but it has indeed grown. Which leads them to believe it's a tumor (can't remember what kind to be honest), this took away the cancer possibilty (for now) and was a relief like you wouldn't know. 6 or 8 months later (I can't remember, there was a lot of time) I was sent for another MRI to see the progress. Compared to the first two, it had barely grown which was a good sign according to them. I believe I have to get another MRI scheduled after I visit my Neurologist, but we'll get there.

During this final appointment with my Doctor about all of this, he sent me to go see a Neurologist about all of this. That was almost a year ago, I'll try to remember a bunch of it for omg's curiousity but I tend to block out things I don't want to remember. She did a whole bunch of tests, confirmed a couple things I knew and a few I didn't but made sense. I'm omnidexterious (sp?) which is funny because school taught me to not use my left hand, I can switch on baseball so kind makes sense. Then it came down to the testing of a few things, if I remember right my tumor is on the front right of my brain. (I could be wrong, but I know it's the right side) which affects the motor skills of my left side. A few basic tests were done, like seeing how quickly I could touch my index finger to my thumb on both hands at the same time. My left hand lags behind at almost 50% and it is slowly becoming slower as of typing this.

So, for those that didn't read the top and read the summary at the bottom. I have Brain Tumors, they suck and it's slowly affecting my motor skills.

Holy shit, it took you a year to get an appointment with a neurologist after the brain tumor diagnosis?

How old are you? What's your next step?

I can only wish you a lot of strength.

I'm 21 years old, I actually just got a letter the other day letting me know when my next MRI is so literally all I do now is wait. If it starts to cause more issues, then from what I've been told it'll probably be surgery.

Crap...
I don't know too much about cancer, but I hope it's not at it's terminal stage.
Hope your surgery (should there be one) goes ok.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Omg dude, this really sucks. My mother died from loung tumor and it sucked big time. But to get it at of age of 21 and on your brain I can't imagine how the hell it could get any worse that that. How are you holding up? How did your family take it? If you don't feel like answering this then please don't.

It could just be a neoplasm for now. Since you are healthy and young otherwise, you might come out of it without it being malignant or metastasizing.

It was actually diagnosed when I was 18 if I remember right. I posted the original message above somewhere else almost 8 months ago and just did that instead of re-typing everything :p.

I'm doing fine, except for the occasional brutal headaches that basically put me off from doing almost anything. There's only 3 people in my family that know, my parents and my grandpa. The rest of my family is completely in the dark as they have no need to know about something like this.

Also, as to why I posted this no idea at all. Felt like putting this somewhere because it's been bugging me lately.

The fact that they caught it fairly early and that it hasn't grown much (as typically brain tumors are aggressive as shit) are both good signs. Your low blood pressure probably has something to do with this as tumors consume lots of nutrients and having a lower blood flow means the tumor does not receive as much nutrients as it would in a normal person. Chances are you will have to get surgery for them to excise the tumor. I would advise that you do ask the surgeon exactly what his plan of attack is, however. Especially because you have low blood pressure, which means that the blood vessels in your head may have consequences that they need to think about first.

Make sure you tell them absolutely everything that's wrong with you, though, and make sure that the guy is experienced. One of my friends went in for a simple heart surgery and ended up with a BIG problem that guarantees him a heart attack by 70, because there was a funny nerve (genetic) that the surgeon wasn't aware of.

GL and hope you get well

My low blood pressure is a family thing actually, but that's the first time I had read it in that way. Until my doctor and neurologist both agree to any sort of surgery, that isn't even apart of the question.

Don't worry too much about it and be on the positive or it will eat your life away. I can tell you're already strong because if it were me, I'd be an emotional wreck.

I don't think there is anything I could possibly say to you to help ease the situation (a reason why I stay out of most threads like these) but I will say a few things.

It seems the doctors are trying to get things in order with you and that you're in good hands (despite long waits). Even though it sucks to have these issues when you're so young, sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise; if you were to have these exact problems when you were 50 or 60 (still have a life ahead) I don't think as many precautionary approaches and double checks would have been taken for ethical reasons and resource allocation. Also, you can perhaps have new avenues opening up in your life where you can write a best selling book on your story or use this as motivation to do something huge.

Sometimes bad situations arise and you're forced to take them, and when you get out, you find that there are new routes which wouldn't have been possible otherwise. I'm thinking of Terry Fox as I write this.

Hopefully everything works out, and you have TL's support!

I don't really let it affect my life, or I try my best not to but sometimes that's just an impossibility if I'm already feeling down. Literally the only thing that bugs me about it right now is that, the more time goes on the more my SC2 gaming skill will go down because my left hand is the one that sits on my keyboard and it's already gotten to the point that trying to hotkey past 5 causes me issues haha ;p

Geez, and I thought my health problems were terrible... I sincerely hope everything works out for you; having multiple brain tumors is definitely not on my to-do list, and shouldn't be something anyone has to endure.
