Need help with LaTeX

Hey guys,

I am currently writing my master thesis, where the notation contains quite a lot of little subtleties. In particular, the understanding of my thesis and notation relies heavy on the distinction between normal font small letters for scalars and bold small letters for vectors. To ensure that this distinction is easily visible for the reader, I´d like to enhance the "boldness" of the \boldsymbol{..} command of the LaTeX package amsmath. Is there anyone who knows how to do that? Because my search hasnt found any answer whatsoever yet.

Please dont suggest alternative notations, as this would almost surely
a) clusterfuck the appearance of my thesis and
b) be too much work, as my deadline is soon and I´ve still got quite a lot of work ahead of me. Procrastination till the last moment, baby. T.T

i once had a a linear algebra 2 prof who didn't put the arrow over vectors...
immediately switched out of that class, couldn't handle it
whats wrong with the arrow?

anyways, i dont have a solution for you, sorry

I dont see any easy way to achieve this. Personally, \boldsymbol is good enough.

The only alternative I can think of, is to use the following:

$$

A\text{x} = \text{b}

$$

Once it is in text, you can bold it in whatever way you want to.

the problem with arrows is that i already have up to 3 different sub- and superscripts on my letters (whether scalar or vector) and often times have a tilde or hat on them. if i now also add an arrow over them or a line under them, the notation is completely clusterfucked. and again, i dont have the time anymore to change something like that for the whole paper.
