Heating the solder therefore might just get the piece of shit to work. It´s either that or I´m a romanian. | ||

This increases diffusion in the sillicone crystal by huge ammounts making already "smeared" (for the lack of a better word) curcuits more likely to break. individually heating the solder points would keep most of the heat away from the chips (gpu and vram) as it dissipates very quickly when getting transportet through the lines on the board. | ||

I believe the wave soldering ovens used to manufacture things like GPUs apply the heat directly the the side of the PCB where the soldering is happening, rather than ambient heat like a home oven. Also, the heat is probably much more intense and applied just long enough to solder without heating the whole card to 100++ degrees (more like a soldering iron would be). | ||
