Well idk about you but in my school, there is a TV and Radio Department for "TV and Radio" majors and Broadcast Journalism major and Film Department for film majors. The two departments are complete rivals to each other always competing b/c it's so similar yet still different. The two main clubs (TV Production Club and Film Society) are also rivals to each other always competing. The students between the two departments are rivals to each other as well always competing and fighting over superiority. Who is the superior side? Who knows, but I'm bias as heck since I'm President of my TV Production club and we produce so many shows that are semi ok when film society only one show per semester that is good. So we win by numbers... Anyway, the whole point I want to say here is that connections and work experience are very important in securing a job. You definitely need some sort of base to work with and you have to learn a set of all sorts of skills, become a balanced rounded person with knowledge of the field and have to be very active. It's similar to TV and Radio, it is very completive in these media fields and the only way to survive is to be ahead of the game against many other students or people just like you who wants to be in this industry. Whether that's internship, connection, abilities, experience, or something else that you have that others don't, this is at least the bare minimum requirement. KEEP THAT IN MIND. If you have any real questions, I'll be more than happy to give you some more advices and help.
