Okay, some of you know me already. I loved Brood War to bits, but just didn’t have the skill necessary to get particularly good at it. Naturally, when SC2 came out, I felt I should just put in the time and effort this time, ladder as much as possible, be the best I could be. I hoped that I could at least be good enough that just hopping on for a quick game wouldn’t be an exercise in shame and humiliation, like when I played BW.
How wrong I was.
The worst part about the whole thing is that, from what I’ve played so far, SC2 is nothing but cheese, cheese, cheese. I genuinely haven’t yet lost a game where someone didn’t cheese me. Take this most recent game I played, on Xel’Naga Caverns.

I started off in the top right, so as any good ‘toss player would, I open by setting up my proxy pylon and gateways, as indicated by the bright red squares on the map above. I start to chrono boost out my first zealots, and…

Lo and behold! He has set up a pair of proxy barracks directly behind my proxy 2 gate, he has, in effect, cheesed my cheese… the only solution for this was to get DTs as quickly as possible, so I teched to the shrine as fast as I could, and put it in a hidden location, as indicated on this map. If he was going to cheese, I’d damn well show him that I was ready to cheese his cheese on my cheese.

Unfortunately, just as the shrine came up, he landed a factory beside it that must have been floating around the back of my base for like… the whole game. Then started producing like, a million hellions. There’s just no way to scout that kind of play.
The real problem here is that I’m a diamond player with 2,000 ELO and I’ve played 900 games… and terran is so imba that once they decide to cheese you, you don't have a chance.

I wouldn't be SO angry about it, but flying buildings are 100% imba.

I mean, you could've just had a couple of stalkers out, couldn't you?
Likewise, by the picture, having control of the xelnaga watch tower on the right would've helped you see the factory.

So you're complaining about seeing nothing but cheese, and yet you're proxy gating?
Also, there's no way you can scout an enemy factory in your base? You can't scout your base? You can't make spotter pylons?

when you are drowning in cheese, the only solution is to add more cheese to the pool of cheese. if you can add enough cheese then your opponent will drown in cheese before you do. or you can add crackers. if you add crackers then you can transition to standard play by eating the cheese. I don't know if you would want to, though.

Though I had to facepalm, after seeing how many people took this blog for 'real'.
edit2: I also would have suggested voids or a mothership after the attempted proxy.

So you cheese someone, only to lose to his cheese, and you claim that:
a) Sc2 is stupid cause everybody cheeses *COUGH COUGH*
b) Terran cheese is impossible to stop, completely ignoring the fact that a proxy factory is and always will be the correct counter to proxy gates.
I can't tell if this is a troll blog or not. If it is, well done. If it's not, grow the fuck up and stop whining.

That would be an awful amount of work to put into a troll blog.
If this is serious, it for sure exemplifies all of the problems in plat and low diamond right now. Starcraft has degenerated into 13-year olds trying to see who can cheese each other first
The other day I played 5 games straight in which I was cheesed. One guy actually tried flying double rax's across the map on scrap station to rush me. Like I'm not going to see that? They don't actually know how to play, they have no skills. They can build forges and cannon, that's it. Defeat the cheese and it's hilarious to watch them transition into nonsense builds.

Well then, what to do when you face a lot of cheese? Practice to fend it off. Make custom games, get friends to cheese you, practice what to do in certain situations so when you actualyl do get cheesed in ladder, you will feel comfortable nonetheless.
Although I have to admit...this was still a bizzare situation....

hahah sir jolt, well done. if you need a terran to make some actual replays to further confuse people, let me know =P
although in actual games, i've seen cheesers get cheesed, its quite fun to watch. i had a TvT base race on kulas ravine where each of us flew our bases and relocated at least 4 or 5 times each.

after hallucinating enough air units (voids, for example), they actually can't focus fire your sentry army cause its covered by the air =D

should have countered with the little robot looking guys at your nexus you had tons of those things but id get some armor upgrades for them so they can be really strong since you had a lot of them this would work i think

if you want to say T got better cheese tactics than P, k i take it but as P u can really easy to stop it who said u cant build your canons before gate and use em on defense
but when u want to say T is imba and OP that is kind of wrong, they are really frustrating using mmms build and it looks like yea its so easy. its maybe hard to stop and easy to be good with it but they cant do anything else than they are doing now, we as the protoss or zerg players have to find our strong build and use it, our units got bigger potential that Ts, this is my opinion, im not telling u im not smashing my keyboard when i loose against T : )

"troll" is the new "noob" (in terms of overused, no longer meaning what it meant).
I agree with an earlier post though, there aren't enough complain-about-cheese threads for this, atleast on these forums.
