When I had a small wart on the skin between my thumb and my pointer finger (whatever you call that part of skin), I cut off a match head and burned it on the wart (which hurt) but in the end it worked.
That being said.. I also had one on my toe once and I tried the same thing, except the jolt of pain from burning it caused me to shake my foot and ended up burning a totally different hole onto my toe.
I know there's some way to freeze them off or something though. :S

i just got over 4 warts on my feet. Beyond contamination through open cuts and wounds, it grows well in moist environments. So, switch socks regularily without letting them get dirty. You can wash it nightly with rubbing alcohol. There are plantar wart treating kits that you can buy with a sallicyclic acid base to help neutralize the bacteria. Go to your local GP and get liquid nitrogen treatment, painless, quick, cheap, will kill the small and medium ones before they get bad. When applying the wart treatment, they give you an emery stick to file down the dead skin. I prefer to use the scraper you get in a nail kit. It removes it MUCH better, and with direct exposure to the treatment it'll go away within 2 weeks. As for the huge ones that become fungal, there is a high concentration acid based treatment that you can ask about with your doctor. Hella painful but 2 days and it'll be gone.

^that sounds fucking painful. I'm looking for some less scary methods edit. That was to the first reply. Thanks for the answers guys.

ahh gross! my siblings and i used to swim competitively, and they would get some pretty nasty warts- luckily i myself was never inflicted haha. they went to a doctor and got them frozen off. apparently it was a bit painful -- depending on your pain tolerance -- but it did the trick! --> basically what projectvirtue said about the liquid nitrogen treatment ^^.

Are you sure its not Athletes foot? (in mandarin its called hong kong feet)
you get athletes foot from wearing socks too long or having your feet in the environment where its sweaty, enclosed and humid and wet, for too long, and the germs form in your feet or something like that.
|
Yeah, I have had some on my hand frozen off with the liquid nitrogen shit but its bad, if they dont get it just on the wart, and hits surrounding skin then you can get permanant tissue damage, I had this happen once and it was fucking painful, and became really swollen and purple. Luckily, no tissue damage.
Something I read awhile ago, and used, was to use the inside of a banana peel on the wart, just rub it in. This got rid of of a couple warts i had like a year ago. Sounds wierd but it worked lol.

I had a few plantar warts on my feet once.... shit was not fun to walk around on. I was in college and had to walk to classes, excruciating almost. I went to the clinic and as I recall they froze them off with something (assume liquid nitrogen) then cut them out. Mine weren't really a 'bad' case though. Of course you should get rid of it, why would you ignore something like this? lol

Had a large one on my foot years ago. Tried freezing it off with liquid nitrogen... didn't work seems gimmiky really. Eventually what got it off was weeks of applying sacylic acid and slicing away the top of it with scraper thing in a manicure set.

Firstly, it's caused by HPV, so blame your ex .
For the past two years, I've been stressing with warts so I'll give some input. Basically I started my remedy from home remedies to eventually having a doc surgically remove it just like you. However, you could ask the doc to apply silver nitrate afterward to stop the bleeding, only downside is having a black paint mark on the area for a week.
About warts on feet though speaking from personal expedience, avoid freezing it. It'll cause blister and hurt like hell walking. Rather, try using salicylic acid and use a metal emery board to scape off the wart.
If that shit don't work and you have insurance, ask your doc to prescribe you Aldara. It's expensive as hell but is working for me. It's basically a cream you apply that boosts your body's immune system to fight off the virus. Best part is it's painless.
GL with warts, OP. Shits annoying as hell.

I think you can buy this stuff to freeze them and just peel them off now. Thats how my sister got rid of hers.

Dude, you probably won't believe me but... Duct tape.
Take duct tape, cut it into little squares and put it over the wart, TIGHTLY. Preferably so water doesn't get in there. Don't take it off until it falls off, and try to NEVER expose it at all.
I had about... 2 years of my life when I randomly got like... 10-20 warts on my feet. I killed every single one of them in a couple weeks with this strategy. Seriously, it sounds stupid but just try it.
Random info I just googled: + Show Spoiler +DUCT TAPE FOR WART REMOVAL A study by Dr. Dean Focht, reported in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (http://archpedi.ama-assn.org), found duct tape to be more effective than treatment with cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen used to freeze warts). Dr. Anthony J. Mancini, pediatric dermatologist at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago uses duct-tape therapy for warts. In an interview with the American Academy of Dermatology consumer magazine, "Dermatology Insights," duct tape treatment was discussed by Dr. Mancini (www.aad.org): WHY DUCT TAPE Two theories were proposed as to why duct tape works: 1. Debrides (removes dead skin) from the wart, thereby gradually eliminating the wart virus that resides in the skin. 2. Occluding the wart with duct tape somehow gets the patient's immune system activated to attack the wart virus. DUCT TAPE TREATMENT PROCESS There are various ways to use duct tape on warts: 1. Patients apply the duct tape to the wart, keep it in place for six or so days, then remove it, soak the wart, and pare it down with a filing (emery) board. 2. Apply over-the-counter salicylic acid wart remover liquid to the wart before bedtime. After letting it air dry for a minute or so, apply the duct tape over the wart, completely covering the area. Remove the duct tape the following morning. Each time they remove the tape, they are debriding some of the wart tissue. Repeat the application each night, until there is no remaining wart tissue. DOWNSIDES TO USING DUCT TAPE 1. The skin can become very macerated (red and soggy) under the duct tape. If this happens, then take a few nights to one week off of the treatment to let the area breathe and dry out, and then resume therapy. As Dr. Mancini points out, duct tape treatment is a gradual process that takes time and commitment on the part of the patient. For more information see www.aad.org

I've had plantar warts for about 5 or 6 years now. Seriously just get them all surgically removed as soon as possible. I had all of mine surgically removed recently but they came back. So get them fast before it's too late. It fucking sucks.
|
I had a wart before, I used a small piece of duct tape and suffocated it. Just leave it on and never take it off, even in the shower.
|
I had a couple of warts on my hand, I just used some cream to get rid of them though..
I also had a plantar wart on my foot at one point, but a couple of weeks under a bandaid with said cream got rid of it with little hassle.
I guess I was lucky it never got to the point of surgery.

Does anyone know the cause of warts? I have a wart on my thumb that I just cannot get rid of. I wash my hands 3+ times a day, take showers every day, have tried the acid patches that you get in stores, the dr scholl's freeze-away, and have gone to the doctors three times to have him liquid nitrogen it off, and it wont go away. The liquid nitrogen works and clears it out, and i grow normal skin again, but it eventually comes back in the same size, shape, and area.

wtf ^ FUCK WARTS AND VIRUSES WTFFF they're so annoying and useless T___T i mean at least mosquitoes are part of the food chain or whatever ... but viruses just dont do SHIT they just fuck other thing's lives up -_-
anyway warts are some virus shit... no idea where they come from if you have some wounds or small cuts i think you can get them easier.. :S dunno about your warts maybe the virus is still thriving deep inside your skin so it keeps coming back .. -_-
thansk for all the responses people. might give the banana skin thing a try though it seems doubtful LOL.

Fuck, I got to change my socks regularly now =/ Thank god I have nothing protruding out right now. I still have hope.

I had a wart a few weeks ago- I had this weird discomfort on my foot after a long day of work- thought it was just the sweat building up or something getting caught in my foot. Turns out there's this gigantic bulbous wart between two of my two toes. Being an idiot, I popped it- which I immediately regretted. It stuck around for about a week or so- the only thing I did was keep it clean and use hydrogen peroxide to help kill the exposed skin (while also ordering a pumice stone and some salicylic acid, because it hurt like crazy).
And then it just disappeared before I got my salicylic acid. :>
Edit: Although looking at my foot again, it kind of looks like it's coming back... slowly. Hopefully my salicylic acid comes in soon... :>

Just go to the doctor's. It's better than any other methods.
I was in the same situation as you a few years ago. I had warts on both feet and I tried all the different medications that you could buy (Freezing, those wart bandages, etc) and they didn't work that well. I ended up seeing my doctor and he used a method where he freezes it with a can of compressed dry ice (Or something similar to that) and scalpels it off. It hurt alright, but it's better than having warts -.-
Plus your feet feel so clean after XD

I've had a couple of warts frozen off with liquid nitrogen. Got rid of them completely in one treatment. It was pretty painful but not terrible. They did leak clear liquid for quite some time aftwerwards. Also had minor scars for a few months/years but they cleared up also.

just went to the doctors today was so fucking painful T____T
well the most painful part was the anesthetic part...first stab into my big toe i was gripping my wallet and phone hard as fuck like FFFFFFF WHAT THE FUCFAUDFAFUFA then another stab into the other areas of my foot T____T
then also the first cut into the big wart on my big toe.. anesthetic hadn't really hit yet so i waslike WAHT WHY IS THIS SO PAINFUL HOLY SHITTT
but after wards my foot was really numb lol so it was all good but still freaky since i knew they were using this machine with an electric current to zap the wound to kill teh viruses. and it started smelling kinda burnt lol.
anyway after they were done when i tried to get up i was dizzy as hell and the nurse was like holy shit you look really pale lie the fuck down and my hearing was really muffled as well so i laid down for a while then it was ok..took a cab home D:
had to take a painkiller cuz the wounds had a really annoying stinging feeling but after that was ok.
now the biggest wound is bleeding and leaking plasma all over my floor godamnit
