This years GamesCom was a blast! This year I didn't just go to GamesCom to wait in line for 3 hours to play 15 minutes of SC2 (and did this for about 8 times). This year SC2 was already released and GamesCom features the Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge! 16 of the worlds best players and tons of TL nerds travel to Cologne. I got to meet so many TL people and had a beer with people I usually only see on youtube videos.
I managed to organize a TL meet up with over 80 people showing up, inculding pretty much every player that played at IEM. The IEM featured great games and sitting in an live audience made watching StarCraft even more fun. The casters Apollo and Day9 did a great job. I hope in the future with SC2 in the german EPS and SC2 in general having so many tournaments running there will be a lot more chance to have giant nerd gatherings like at this years GamesCom!
My photos don't have the best quality and people sometimes have their eyes closed or don't look at them camera. I was trying to stay unnoticed while I walked around and took photos. I still think they give a pretty good impression.
(I made a thread with links to all GamesCom/IEM related blogs: Link)
