Just thought I'd make this blog for fun, cause I'm in a shitty mood and waiting for Supreme Commander to finish downloading. Anyway:
These types of youtube comments are really annoying to me. I don't care enough to actually get angry, but yea, they're kinda irritating and extremely stupid. Note most of the pertain to music videos, because that's mainly what I use youtube for.
1. Justin Bieber This is by far the most ridiculous. Why does just about every single music video I watch on youtube have at least 2 Justin Bieber comments per page? These comments are everywhere, on every type of music I search, whether its rock, prog rock, metal, jazz fusion, etc etc. It's ridiculous, you hate him but you're only adding to his fame. On top of that it's completely irrelevant. No1 cares about how much deeper the music you listen to is compared to him.

2. I'm only __, and I love ______
Musical elitism. The kid states how young he is, and the fact that he listens to this kind of music and not mainstream music. Woot! Again, no1 cares. You're not better because you think your taste in music is better. You're a fan of the band? Awesome! It doesn't make it any more awesome that you're young, and you're not the last hope of this generation.
I'm only 13 and I love pink floyd its so much better than that rap music all my friends are obsessed over.
3. __ People missed the like button ...or "__ people don't know real music". Again, musical elitism. Some1 isn't stupid because he doesn't share your taste in music. Why does everyone that disagrees with you have to have missed the like button? Maybe they just don't like the song.

4. Thumbs up if _____________________ These are stupid more than they are annoying but still, worth listing. Basically an obvious attention seeking move, naming something obvious that most people watching the video are likely to agree with in hopes of getting your name on the highest rated comments. I find its attention whoring more than anything else.
Thumbs up if you think DAve Mustaine's hair looks awesome!!!1
5. Overreacting People take things too seriously sometimes and get mad at people who simply think differently. Heres an actual comment on "Children of the Sea", a song im listening to right now:

6. Knee jerk reactions When I disagree with something, or state an opinion outside of the norm (for that video), why does everyone assume the worst / most generic insult in me? I don't like Ozzy's singing, and when I say that the response is usually "he's a legend you prick, go back to listening to your goddam rap and pop bullshit". I say that TvZ is imbalanced in a youtube video, or that a particular game was boring, and I get "fuck you noob go back to playing Sc2 you just discovered the game yesterday and you think you can say something"

I miss the hide comments option that YouTube used to have... much easier to avoid spoilers on VODs and to avoid the rage... these days I zoom in on the page so that comments are no longer visible if I'm skimming a video or full screen.
Seriously i've posted a couple Youtube comments and there's something about the formatting on that website that makes everything written therein just appear stupid. No matter how educated you are the instant you post a comment on Youtube the IQ behind it's creation seems to drop 90 points.
What do you expect, it's youtube. Most of those posts are coming from people at the bottom of the barrel. Reading youtube posts can only aggravate you.
What makes it worse is that people change it up a little. So instead of saying "People missed the liked button." they combine a couple of the annoying comments to produce something like:
"Justin Bieber came in here and pressed dislike 30 times. Thumbs up if you agree, bitches?!?!?!??!!!11"

Haha. It isn't really a pissed of thread as much as a list of stuff I find irritating that I decided to write down for fun (and to waste time, fuck my slow downloading speed)

Yeah I'm not a fan of the youtube comments, because the quality of most of the comments are just so low that I just stopped reading them all together. =\ The only time i read youtube comments are when i watch SC vods that have all the intros and interviews, and i need to find out where the game starts.
I sometimes don't mind #3. It depends on how original/funny the comment is. Seeing shit like "80 people are stupid" is annoying, but a funny variant I find welcome.
For example, for this video:
One of the comments says :157 vampires dislike this video. Given where this song comes from, it was enough to make me chuckle.
This is why I avoid reading or posting any comments. youtube comments are like the cesspool of inane garble of the internet. That and 4chan, but at least 4chan has pictures.
Fact : The internet is just full of people who don't care and will post anything they woudl like to. I am really just so sick of people on the internet. 85% of them are just so rude.....

That list is pretty spot on. I've definitely noticed #2,3 a lot lately. 19 people missed the like button! Its not even annoying , more surprising. Like someone read it and went "wow that is so clever and funny, I'm going to use that next time!" Interesting in how/why dumb stuff spreads.
Other ones that come up a lot - praise/insult directed at person in video, who clearly isnt the uploader or on youtube.

I see it on every third video or something... I honestly think youtube revamping their comment system has actually made things worse, because it turned people into attention whores trolling for retard votes.
When I used firefox, I had the "Youtube comment snob" extension installed which lets you block comments according to the number of misspellings. I set it to 0 and life became easier.
Unfortunately I use chrome now and there's no such... wait. Let me check.

SubtleArt, I agree with you when you say '"you hate him but you're only adding to his fame" regarding Justin Bieber.
To be honest, I didn't even know who the hell Justin Bieber was until I saw all these ridiculous comments in youtube while watching some videos of my favorite music! The fools should have realized that the best way was to just not mention him in the first place; way to go guys giving Justin more publicity for free!
As a music major and enthusiast, I really look down on people who think they can judge musical genres. Yes, you are allowed to give your personal opinion on what music you like and what music you dislike, but I would very much like it if people would just hold their tongue instead of judging that one type of music is better than another. No one has a real right to judge musical genres.
Not to mention that it's stupid to do it, but it is just so extremely subjective that it's practically useless. I mean, who can even prove that Richard Wagner produced better music than Justin Beiber? No one can even prove that me recording the background noise in my apartment for the next 39 seconds is worse music than Mozart.
But yeah, youtube people are dumb as bricks so w/e. Most of the people on TL are students, so it's easy to forget that there are some pretty dumb people about.

Whats worse is when people come on videos of Nas or something and say "this is real hip hop im only 12 and i jam this manye." nobody cares.
You know what's annoying? When I make a comment, then, a year later, I get an email notification that somebody replied. I guess it's not that annoying, but it makes me wonder why they'd even put in the effort, especially since their comment usually just amounts to "yeah" or "haha".
