How was AIT after basic?
depends on where you go, it was actually a lot of fun since you get weekends off to relax and stuff (well i did at least)

my ait was cake, but that was intel school. lol, most weekends off, 4 day weekends for holidays, only hard part was 3 weeks in the field
and yeah shallow, i did ranger school and airborne before my deployment so i could deploy with the 75th ranger regiment

The stress cards rumor started from a card that the Navy used to hand out in their boot camp. It was never a card that actually meant that Drill sergeant had to stop whatever was stressing you, it just had a list of resources that a recruit could use if they were stressed about being in boot camp. Story goes that some recruits would hold up the card during strenuous training, not actually expecting it to stop because they held a card up.

MICO @ 75th? How the fuck do you go to sapper school as an analyst/interrogator? Unless you're fucking lying, in which case I'm not too surprised because you can be anything you want behind a computer screen. What school class # / months did you go through? And while we're at it, what RIP class?
I'm a batt boy up at 2/75 in WA. I'm not sure what it is with the military, but you can't ever get a straight answer out of anybody. All you ever get is excuses, gross exaggerations, or outright lies, and this thread is a perfect example. This entire thread is filled with misinformation, with the exceptions of posts by starlight, badwithnames, and d_so.
I did the whole infantry route you're about to do early to mid 2007. Like somebody else had mentioned, I'd recommend you try and scavenge yourself airborne school and (if you're totally committed and physically prepared) Ranger option while in basic (it's probably too late by now).
If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask.

pfff, I can assure you that my one post in this thread was entirely fact, as they informed my entire platoon of it during basic training.

Bobo sir relax, even rangers need intel. I was "drafted' persay during AIT for what they called a quickstart ranger program. basically what you do to qualify is go through the school with a 100% in the classroom, have over a 300 pt score, and have shown excellence or whatever during your time there. from AIT i went pretty much straight to airborne and then a quickstart ranger program as i stated above. right after i finished both the schools, i was attached to a unit in afghanistan for 5 months. and for the sapper thing, that too was a rapid start program that my unit offered to anybody, it wasnt the REAL sapper school but it was basically the same thing in a few weeks less of training. we would've been certified sappers.
