I think both day9 and apollo are great casters, but they would be better individually rather than co-casting. They are both able to commentate an entire game from start to end on their own, but their styles really don't complement each other very well. In terms of co-casting, I think Chill is the best caster to cast with another person.

Seans good for color commentary, need a good play-by-play man just like any sport. Tasteless is the obvious one that fits both bills, but d'apollo has been commentating for closer to 0 time than otherwise.

It's why JP McDaniel and Day9 do well together, complementary.

Chill + Day9 commentating duo is pretty much the only way to go. Maybe add Tasteless too, then you've got the Strategic Analysis commentator, the awesome Support commentator and the Excitement/Color commentator

I think the Day9 TV shows are better than the livecasting, but the announcing is still pretty good imo. The one thing about English RTS announcing I've noticed so far is that I've yet to hear a duo that has really GREAT chemistry, although most duos have perfectly okay chemistry. That's probably because chemistry comes with time, and there are few commentating duos in E-sports that have been allowed to get to know each other for years.

Also, it is difficult to build chemistry online as most duos need to do.

Chill + Day9 is probably the best english commentary duo. I'm don't think 3 casters is better than 2 though. Too many cooks, etc.

I agree that none of the two commentators have been delivering to best grades so far in the tournament, but guess what: Commentating tournaments in front of a live audience is a skill that needs to be trained just as anything else.

Sean is in his total comfort zone when doing his daily videos in his own room being fully rested and composed. He can for example stop a second and have a sip of water to think through what he is going to say next, which is a luxury you dont get at a tournament. Now he is at the venue at the other side of the world with people buzzing him all day, and it is just going to be noticeable that he is under a certain amount of stress.

Other than that, have Apollo and Day9 ever casted together before? Working together is also a thing that comes with practise.
forgottendreams: One underage girl, two drunk guys, one gogo dancer and starcraft 2. Apparently just another day in Europe.

Apollo's game analysis obviously seems weak compared to that of Day9.
Day9 is just amazing at constantly keeping cool and professional and along with that come amazing game analysis.
Would have loved to se an Artosis by Day9's side (or chill or his bro ofc - but let's keep it realistic^^), but it is what it is, and imo they're doing so much better than most of the stuff out there.
While Apollo would be horrible as a solo commentator, having someone like day9 by his side also makes his amazing charisma shine through, which makes it live up to my expectations.

My only beef with the commentating is appolo

Agreed. Constantly talking over Day9 or in the background. Then again, I'm inclined to take Day9's side because he does awesome dailies and maybe he's the one talking over Appolo.

Casters really need to figure out who is calling the play by play and who is doing colour and stick to their roles.

REally? I found apollo to be very good. He called like all of the builds and anticipated what each player was going for almost every time. He has a very good understanding of the game, he just needs to slow down a bit IMO.

d.apollo is not a very polished caster, as compared to day9. He's improved quite a bit since the beginning of the IEM, but he just isn't impressive.

There a few casters on iccup and youtube (surprising?) who I think have better game knowledge and flow than apollo.
