I'll be attending an interview soon where I will be required to show my knowledge of the programs Captivate, and Flash.
I've not used either program in recent years but I remember picking up Flash in a weekend many many moons ago when I desired nothing more than to create a pokemon fan-page...
So what I'd like to know from any Captivate/Flash users is, can these programs be learned easily within a month with the right dedication? (I would be able to give 2 hours a day for a month, sufficient?)
Also if anyone knows a link to great tutorial in either program that'd be awesome.
Ta very much

I remember from taking a computer science class were we used Flash, it's quite easy (with the help of some tutorials) to learn the basics, but advanced Flash is more difficult. I imagine 2 hours a day for a whole month would be enough to get a solid grasp though.
off topic: your blog title made me think of Pokemon

If you are getting a JOB that requires these programs, you might need rather advanced knowledge of them. I have not used Captivate before, but Flash at the higher-ends require some practice to make bugless programs, especially if you are making it connect online.
The best way to learn Flash is through books. You can find billions (maybe just hundreds :p) of Flash programming books in public libraries, at the 000 section (dewey decimals).

I'm sending my girlfriend to the library as we speak
The Job doesn't list the programs as requirements, just 'desirables' so I should be okay by the sounds of it. I'll face the music come interview if I'm clearly under qualified though.
Sorry to disappoint of the Pokemon front, on the plus side I just found a Pokewalker I lost in the boot of my car, complete with a ridiculous amount of steps, score!

2 hours per day per month sounds ok to pick up the basic skills. Try to get used to ActionScript as it is very, very helpful for Captivate and creating highly interactive content.
Maybe you also can try to find out what version of Captivate is in use, because everything below the current Captivate 5 version is essentially not as intuitive as it should be and you have to find stupid workarounds for stuff that should be easily doable (goddamn pause widget -.-)
next to Youtube tutorials try make use of the Adobe forums. There you will find a very helpful community for specific questions you might encounter.

Thank you Solai, is Actionscript something I should look into before starting with Flash? The Captivate is version 5 I hear.
