So I talked to my dad today and it eventually came up to the topic of regrets and all. And I've decided that I'm going to try to live my life with little to no regrets. I know its going to be hard and all but I'm going to have to try. I've regretted too many things that I could have done or could have said. And those things could have made my life a little better . So ... TL do any of you live life with no regrets? Or try to atleast. How is that going for you guys right now?

What a strange and vague topic to blog about. Regret is one of the worst emotions you can feel, so it kind of sucks that everyone has to live with it. Still, I try to think about how my life is going pretty well right now, and that all the decisions I've made in the past, including those I regret, have shaped me up till now. Like a butterfly effect! At the very least I can move on from things this way.

Of course this only applies to larger decisions. I still wish I had an ovie in my main and didn't get all my drones killed by a dt

I borrowed 6.5k from Student Loans and quit the course I was in.
I played bw more than i went out when i turned 17 and got my first home PC+Internet.
I lost contact with my two childhood friends, well we still have eachothers numbers, but we never call.
I missed one of them's daughters birthdays this passed saturday, how do i make it up to him when i still have to ask her how old she turning? 4 btw.
I punch holes in my walls when i get mad and end up feeling bad in the end.
I quit school 4 years in a row, signed myself up got high grades, then just lacked in on time and attendance so i ended up qutting out of (why show my face anymore im always late and lacking homework now).

Regrets can be both good and bad, if you regret killing someone, you may not do it again, if you regret calling White-Ra a nube while on his smurf account and soon after find out it was white-ra you wont bm random names anymore, instead you will regret it. :D

Then theres the famous, oh i shouldn't have left deja at storrzergs house, boy do i regret fucking him over, shit im banned from TL, i want to die. See regret in its bad form can really suck, so avoid the decision that causes bad regrets, and embrace the ones you can really learn from.

I'm positive most people still believe whatever happens happens for the best, yet there's absolutely no way to live your life with no regrets, no one is perfect. I assume you are too young to even have actual regrets, unless you've lost someone close you can still become anything you want.

The easiest way to have no regrets is to just chill. Act how you feel is best in the moment and that way you can't regret it later.

And I was thinking of a cool Latin for a tat, this is no simple coincidence.

Yeah, I know I'm not going to be able to but trying is better than nothing. When you try you'll be able to do it more than if you don't try. Thats what I'm trying to get at. Also I didn't mean like "crap I regret killing him, etc." More like "I regret talking to this guy maybe he wouldn't have committed suicide, I regret going to this school and making my life better, etc. etc."

Speaking of things you might regret...

The best way is just to learn to live with the fact that everyone has to make decisions, and sometimes things won't turn out the way you wanted them to. Regret is impossible to avoid, and as others have already said can help you change yourself for the better. But just because you'll experience it, doesn't mean you should dwell on it once you've learned the lesson (if any).

carpe diem and all that, blah blah

Good luck with that, but in modern society life is so restrictive I have given up living without regrets. Man does not have unlimited opportunity or potential for actions, you should live life to the fullest, however don't have unrealistic expectations.

True ... I don't have unrealistic expectations at the moment. I just want to start with little things and work up to maybe everyday things. You gotta understand I don't mean like everything I have to try. Its just that the things that matter the most to me I have to do them. If you get what I'm saying.

just think of regret as a word some really smart guy that everyone respected enough to keep the word came up with. With that in mind, regret is just a word. The actual description to it is up to you to let it be a regret or not. What is considered normal, and not so normal will cause you to think you regret something based on what it was. So stupid that we are just monkeys with big brains that can sponge the fuck out of television and science. Science is man made therefore is completely based off of what we chose to be real or not. I mean ah fuck it. It would take a few SENSE HEIGHTENING things to talk this one over.

I think science is based on things we see. You're right though, just a description.

<3 utoo! yeah its two sided like everything, gotta love the "right" and "wrong" of our brains. Right = Science is real and everything in it, while discluding everything i said. Wrong = Everything that I said would be considered the normal way of thinking about science.

Actually this doesn't look half bad:

I love everything about "amor fati" (besides "amor" in it), I did take Latin for good 2 years and my life has been a complete train wreck, if I end up getting something like this I'll definitely blog about it with pictures.

Your actions brought you to where you now are, and you must never forget where you come from. You should appreciate and love where you come from, which is akin to loving yourself. I truly believe this. Yet...

I've done a lot of pretty out-there things in my life. I don't regret any but one. I fucked my good friend's girlfriend, who was also my then-girlfriend's good friend.

I used to live with the mindset of no regrets; that even the negatives are positives; but I just can't say that anymore. For me, it's not true.

The moral, I guess, is that for at least some of us, life will be partially comprised of things you wish you hadn't done and the subsequent consequences.

So, what are you gonna do about it?

LOL yea, I've noticed that too, just posted something that came up on google. The dark background and the eagle don't quite fit with the saying either, supposed to be something indefinite. I'll get on it later, too good of an idea to waste.

I don't think I have any major regrets. I'm asking a girl out next week and if I don't do it I'm gonna regret it, so I'm doing it ... fuck it go all-in with life, I think that's the best wya to go.

At 21 years of age I feel old. I wish I could just go back to when I was 12 and do everything over; so many decisions would be different.

Unfortunately we can't do that. All we can do is change and get real with that change:

Honestly no one is going to reach an advanced age and not regret things IMO (unless you're very well off or very lucky). It's part of this insane world, the ghosts of the past will haunt us.
