This was originally intended to be released in the [SC2B] Weekly Round-Ups, but was unfortunately cut (and for good reason). So I will be posting them here, in my personal blog, and on a much more lax schedule. It's just a little blurb about the inner workings of TL. So go ahead and read ... if you dare.

The Garbage Men

It's trash day.

Suit, check. They zip up their red jumpsuits and hop into the truck, which gives a loud belch of protest before the sputtering engine turns on. They day has only just begun. Gloves, check. Their hands are heavy, and the gloves are stifling. They look out the window, at the trees and grass zooming by. It's tarnished with litter and debris, and blackened by smog. But they know that's only a taste of what's to come. Boots, check. The truck comes to a screeching halt. They jump out, landing in a thick puddle of muck and grime. Aluminum cans, crumpled fliers, and charred cigarettes litter the putrid soil. It's time to work.
They are the garbage men. They spend the day cleaning up the mess that we make, the filth we carelessly litter upon the ground. Why do they do it? Because this is the land they have come to love and cherish, the land of a thousand fond memories, the land that they have watched blossom and grow like a father watches his son. This is their home. They want to make it a better place, a place that everyone can enjoy. They want to share their pride and joy with the world. And so they toil, hour after hour, day after day, purging the muck and the filth, tossing out the garbage and the litter. On occasion, they accidentally toss out a flower or a bush. We are outraged because we expect them to be perfect. "Why did you throw away that perfectly good shrub?" we demand. "There was absolutely no reason to." If only we would realize that they are human, too. The only thing separating them from us are their red jumpsuits and heavy gloves and boots. Other times, they throw out a poisonous weed or corrosive plant. Again, we are skeptical. "Why did you throw out plant? It did nothing wrong!" But they know better, for this is their home. They know this land like the back of their hands, and what others see as just another harmless plant, they instinctively recognize as an arboreal menace.
The sun slowly sets, its luxurious and dimming red rays signaling the end of the workday. The garbage men wipe the sweat from their brows and take a nice long look around. The view is breathtaking: the verdant landscape and brilliant palette of flowers glow softly under the setting sun's watchful gaze. Not a speck of trash, not a puddle of grime is to be seen. They hop back on the truck and head home, relieved grins spreading across their faces as they think of the beauty and glory they will share with the world.

A job well done.

To be continued...

Everything you do is just a misguided attempt to impress me. Don't lie.

Some time ago when I was still young and self-confident I had to change schools, I was probably in the 10th grade. On my third day at the new place, before I got to know any of my classmates, we were given a task of writing a fable (it had to be somewhat original). So I sat there thinking of a concept, then I started writing. I thought it was good, it was about the wheat, how it emerges from the ground, weak and fragile, then starts growing through the struggle of rains and heat and other crap until a man comes and harvests it only to plant it anew next year. Not too sure where I was going with it back then, just felt that I was definitely about to impress my teacher.

They printed all the fables the following week in some kind of a newspaper on the wall, I didn't care for my grade anymore. I stood there thinking to myself - holy shit, why I am so hopeless and plain and where did I ever get the idea that I had any kind of a writing talent? That motivated me a lot back then because I felt I was the worst.

Why wouldn't I say something to possibly motivate the OP? He has a pen near his name yet he is really bad at writing. If he is going to do allegorical blogs about nothing he might as well try at it.

Yeah, that's what all those guys use to say about my BW. Telling me I was miserable just to motivate me. I feel so much better now!

And the funny thing is, you're actually pretty good at BW...

condoriano: You're entitled to your own opinion. I'm sorry if you feel that I am a bad writer, or that you are somehow able to unconditionally judge my writing abilities based on a little blurb I jotted down during free time at work. But, the thing is, I checked your posting history and realized that I don't really care about the opinion of someone as abrasive as your are at all...

Ever since you were putting B-/B in your profile while being C/C+ at best I started paying attention. "Liquidkickball" happened and failed. You posted a couple of "guides" and it probably has gotten to your head too.

Suddenly you think you can write.

It's not an easy task though, one thing is babbling about build orders and "metagame", another thing is being able to make words into an art.

Outrage for a plant?
Maybe a cannabis plant.
Or... a fruit bush? nah...
A build is not a guess, an estimation or a hunch, a feeling, or a foolish intuition. A build is a dependable, unwavering, unarguably accurate, portrayer of your ambition.
