I have already graduated and I majored in mathematics. But I also took a lot of chemistry courses.
First of all, if linear algebra and (multivariable) calculus does not kill you, then you should definitely take them. The reason is that there is something called physical chemistry, which requires some light-duty multivariable calculus.
I remember a friend of mine did a project with a professor on physical chemistry - but he didn't take multivariable calculus previously. He ended up have to learn the calculus himself. I am guessing learning it yourself is not too bad, but why not take the actual course? It's just 10 times better to learn it systematically with a professor of mathematics.
On the other hand, if those courses do 'kill' you, then know that in organic chemistry, you will use almost no math at all.

ive taken orgo, taking pchem next sem.
orgo was really really fun, but all my research has so far been in pchem and I feel like its kind of more of my thing. but even at the highest/research levels of orgo, it doesnt involve math atall?
and honestly i think i'll have room for these courses...its more a matter of whether mere mortal me can survive fucking real analysis and the hard/theoretical diffeq class

My college (Univ of Md) only required 2 semesters of regular calc for biochemistry degree... heh. They may have changed it since then though.
We still had to take a crapton of chemistry courses. a bunch of biochem courses and maybe a couple high level bio courses. TONS of lab courses.

TONS of lab courses. hmm yeah idk also with biochemistry. though what im doing now is like biophysics/physical chemistry and its requires a ton of math. i was thinking about doing biochemistry but recently i feel more like id rather do regular chemistry at least for undergrad and maybe do research in biochemistry but more likely in pchem/ochem/materials. well, sometimes they play into each other, that would be cool...need to find a good prof.
if you went to umd why arent you at TL MD LANS!?!?! wtf. ESHLOW!!!

Bchem is required to take ochem, pchem, and some materials stuff but yeah if you wanna get more in depth with that you should probably just do chem.
Well, I'm a grad student up at UMB now... I haven't been in school at CP since '07... haha o_o

I'm sorry
I just keep coming back to this thread to look at the chick in the op.
