So I noticed something bizarre the other day. When I make my bed and go to sleep, I always, invariably (so far as I remember) put my pillow and my head up against the wall. If my bed sticks out into the room, my feet will stick out into the room. If the bed is against a wall with one end of the bed in a corner, my head goes at that corner end.
And I had assumed everybody did this.
Then I noticed that my brother does the opposite. He sleeps feet to the wall, head in the air. I'd feel really uncomfortable doing this, and it just seems weird.
So I naturally thought I would poll you, my gentle TL audience, and see what you all did.

In general I sleep with head to wall, but I've sometimes switched for the hell of it (and yea it feels odd)

i actually sleep with feet to wall.i feel kinda insecure with something not under my feet.

YES, HEAD AT THE WALL. I feel so freaking awkward with my head like all exposed. I dunno but I just like the feeling of being in a corner.
And wtf, sleeping with someone but sleeping in opposite directions? lol

I can't think of anybody I know that sleeps feet against the wall :O

Im too tall for my bed so my feet hanging out the bottom as it feels good that way, and cools down my feet on the really warm summer days.

I sleep on the floor in the middle of a room.

Head to the wall but I'm comfortable doing it either way and I have done it either way.

i always wake up with the covers in some weird contorted shape and one pillow halfway off the bed
it's strangely consistent

the bed i mainly sleep in is in like a little niche in the room so there's walls on 3 sides which makes it feet to the wall and head to the wall at the same time

Head to the wall, I've tried laying in the opposite way and it feels weird.

Head to wall. On occasion (like once a year) I switch it for the heck of it... after a minute it feels normal.

Head to the wall, and another wall to the left.
A few years ago I slept head-to-desk (which had a solid board at the side, so it was similar to a wall, but there also was a wall by my feet). And before that I had a wall by my feet and to the right, and also was surrounded by boards. It was the upper frame of a bunk bed, and the ladder was next to my feet.
Add a few variations for the times I wasn't sleeping at home.
I probably would feel a little unsecure if there wasn't at least a wall to the side of my head. But other than that I had pretty much everything and was fine.

I sleep feet to the wall and head to the wall randomly when alone, and when Im with my gf we sleep facing opposite ways usually.

My room isn't that big so I guess I sleep head and feet to the wall. I don't think I would have a preference either way though.

a bed!?!? fuck must be nice bro. :D i sleep on my couch past 5 years, now when i try beds it feels too wierd being able to sprall out, ah so i guess you can say that i need a wall since im on couch and it has that back to it.

I switch it up, head to the wall, head away from the wall. Variety is always good; plus I get to see new parts of the wall from time to time.
Kind-of an odd question though. Technically....your head is always facing a wall, unless you sleep in the woods or something, but I don't want to be too much of a smart-ass.

I have my bed in a corner, and have my head against one wall, and my back against the other. That way nobody can sneak up on me.>

I have a mattress in the basement in the center of the room, where I sleep during summer, otherwise I sleep both ways, never paid attention to it, cuz im so damn tired before sleep that it doesnt matter.

The long side of my bed is against the wall so I guess I sleep with my side to the wall.

Hmz not sure, bed is bit differently positioned. Longside against the wall as well as the short end, in the corner basicly. Prefer sleeping away from the corner of walls thou.

should always sleep with feet facing inwards to the room, but not so that your feet are facing directly at the door, it is bad Fung Shui. It is said that corpses of dead people sleep with their feet facing the door straight on, so your bed should either be to the left or right of the door, still with your feet facing its direction though.
Also in olden times, people would sleep this way because if there was an intruder you would be in the best position to defend yourself.

I sleep with head to wall now only because my new bed has no headboard or board thing by my feet.
Generally I sleep in a way such that my head is front of some boundary, not necessarily a wall.

That's what i prefer also. It just feels weird having your head and then nothing else.

By bed is not up against the wall (atleast the headboard) so unless I sleep perpendicular to my bed, it's not possible for me to choose one position or the other.

I sleep with my body centered, my feet sticking out, and my body wrapped around another pillow (lack of a partner). I have a lot of friends who sleep with their heads against the wall though.
On days that I can't sleep though, I sleep sitting against the corner of my walls and helps me get rid of thoughts running through my head. I must be an odd man out.

I sleep by laying on my bed. my wall is a storage closet with an open door thats broken. The door is blocked by hanging clothes and jackets. My bed is a bunk bed but the top is also storage

I usually sleep head to the wall, but there was a few years that I slept feet to the wall. The only thing that was weird about that was that my room was on the other side of my person then it was the other way. I got use to it fairly fast though.

I switch occasionally, and I'm comfortable with both ways. However I always, always have a wall on one side of the bed. But now that I think about it, at my last apartment, only my side was to the wall. There was at least a foot or two of space between my head/feet and the opposing wall.

Head to wall for me. Right under my window. It just felt more natural. Switchin it up in a while is cool but my feet get so cold.

Head to the wall and in corner because hitting a wall is better than hitting someone else.
Also, should someone need to go somewhere in dark, it'd be better for them to step on my legs than my head.

I sleep in my basement and in my room. In the basement I sleep head to the wall, but in my room I sleep feet to the wall because that way I'm not directly under the window and I can get up from the right side (as opposed to the left).

Sleep with girlfriend. Head to wall. We don't have a headboard so I would often lose my pillow while sleeping at night if we slept facing the other way.
