The Road (2009)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0898367/

This movie totally sucks, major plot holes, annoying pussy boy character, things not explained, worst ending I've ever seen.

So, let's get the plot out of the way first for those who are curious:
A man and a boy are in an unknown post apocalyptic wasteland struggling to survive and heading south for some reason. Man keeps having flashbacks of his crazy wife.+ Show Spoiler [plot-ending] +
Many close calls with cannibals/randoms happen, man dies from unknown condition/wife suicides and boy meets random stranger/family. Nothing changes, boy is arguably worse off. The End.

Ok, so the only part of the movie that actually meant anything to me was how completely fucked up the father was to this black vagrant. (some kind of tough love thing to prove to his son).
This is not a plot spoiler (if there is even a plot?)
+ Show Spoiler [fucked up scene] +
Basically what happens is the black man is following them trying to find an opportunity to steal their shit. He does, takes all the supplies and food and leaves the boy unharmed with his gun. Somehow they catch back up to this guy pulling the cart of shit and the father forces him at gunpoint to give back all the shit. Then he proceeds to make the man strip down to nothing (not even socks), the man begs and pleads (on the verge of tears). The father says "I'm going to leave you how you left us, with nothin" (exaggerated ofc) takes his clothes and knife and carts away with his boy. The man is left standing there half keeled over, freezing, and he everyone knows this man is worse off than dead. PS- this is not long after they find a cellar full of people who are starving and being kept hostage to inevitable be eaten. They find these people and lock them back in.

I have been looking but I can not find a clip of this scene anywhere. If someone knows one is, or wants to upload it to YT please do.

Ignoring the length and pseudo review of this movie, I actually wanted people to share about the most fucked up non-violent scenes in film that they have seen.

It's a shame to hear that this sucks, because what you just described actually sounded pretty cool.

David Lynch should be appearing in this thread many times, so I'll start one off.

Inland Empire
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460829/
I admit that I can't think of any one particular scene that is the "most" fucked up, since the whole movie is just one big cluster fuck of fucked up. I'll have to pick the scene that made a friend I watching it with say how freaked out he was (lol).

arg i can't find the scene, but i'll post a couple scenes from the movie anyway.

omgomg RABBITS

It was the scene where the protagonist woman and the guy she's shooting a film with who she's having a real life affair with are having sex and during the middle of it, while under the covers, she starts asking the guy "is that you, John (or whatever the name was of his character in the movie they were starring in". At this point he gets a bit confused and she gets a bit frantic and continues to refer to him by the person in the movie rather than his real life name. At this point the guy himself starts to "snap out of it", if you will, and it just gets weird. Anyways, it doesn't sound that interesting the way I've written it, but I assure you it's really "fucked up". David Lynch has a way of making the viewer feel really uncomfortable to a surreal extreme, the scene I described features an oft used theme by the director, blurring the lines between fiction and reality; think Requiem for a Dream, add Tim Burton from hell and magnify times 100.

i thought The Road was pretty good, as depressing as it was, although i agree the ending was pretty meh.

nothing beats inland empire for pure fucked up stuff. NOTHING. amazingly i managed to see that movie about 3 times. The bit where the main character is walking in the distance and slowly getting closer to the camera in darkness then suddenly it shows her face and it looks really fucked up scared the hell out of me.

That movie is like 1 really bad nightmare. Good movie though.

Edit: also Tetsuo The Iron Man is pretty fucked up.

Another disturbing/fucked up moment in film (although it is using violence/gore) that left me rattled for a few days was the scene in Hannibal where Ray Liotta's character is drugged and gets lobotomized right at the table. and Hopkins character proceeds to saute it right there and feed it to Ray Liotta. This was njust as disturbing as jar squatter or BME pain olympics for me.

The whole movie is pretty fucked up and almost non-violent.
It's more important to be tough than to have any fun.

Obviously you don't know the background and what actually happened. Read the book itself. It will clear out some things (although I've never seen the movie itself).

Isn't it totally plausible to lose a small piece of your frontal lobe brain there in the front and still function somewhat?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontal_lobe
Damage

Damage to the frontal lobes can lead to a variety of results:

* Mental flexibility and spontaneity are impaired, but IQ is not reduced.
* Talking may increase or decrease dramatically.
* Perceptions regarding risk-taking and rule-abiding are impaired.
* Socialization can diminish or increase.
* Orbital frontal lobe damage can result in peculiar sexual habits.
* Dorsolateral frontal lobe damage reduces sexual interest.
* Creativity is diminished or increased as well as problem solving skills.
* Distraction occurs more frequently.
* Loss of smell and/or taste.

I thought it was alright, the acting was solid.

I did however think it had plot holes, and the whole situation didn't really make sense. Why are all the animals dead exactly, yet they are alive and all the forests are still there?

Also I thought it kind of dragged on.

The only movie ive never been able to finish watching because it was so perverse and disturbing was "120 Days of Sodom". Which really suprised me because ive seen some pretty disturbing films.. but this one surely topped it off. Had to turn it off when i got to + Show Spoiler +
a part where this teenage boy and girl are being forced to have sex infront of everyone after getting married and one of the 3 older men that's "enslaving" the kids jumps in on the action. Soon after, a second one comes in and begins to nail the other old dude in the ass. Yup, thats when i was like, "Yeah.. thats enough that.." LoL

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salò,_or_the_120_Days_of_Sodom this film is still currently banned in several countries. =\

Summary: This is post-apocalyptic situation where all animals and forests are dead/burned, and sun is demented. Pretty much, it's every man for himself. They are all trying to survive by killing each other and sometimes eating one another. So when someone else is trying to get these guys (Father and the Son), they're just going to kill'em and eat them alive.

Oh and I'm not sure if I answered your question about those death... that's just how Cormac McCarthy played it in the book.

Yeah, it's plausible, but the idea of a man munching on his own brains was just too much for me to handle. It's been years since I've watched the movie and I still instinctively giggle from the thoughts of that scene.

Scenes that have scarred me for life from that movie are when Laura Dern runs up to the camera in the dark but you can't see her face from afar until she gets right up to the screen crying, and also the ending when the villain turns into something really grotesque when Laura Dern shoots him. I tried not to remember too much from the rabbit scenes because of how eerie they were in general.

oh man i really wish I could remember the name of this one movie I've seen a lot of parts of at my friend's house.

it's some abstract independent film from the 70s and I think my friend told me one of the beatles helped produce it (I think john lennon but checking his IMDB producer credits I can't find the film)

it has some of the most fucked-up scenes I've ever seen in a movie, including:

- jesus being attacked by a large group of small children
- jesus smoking a blunt with a midget with no hands
- jesus falling asleep and then being captured by people who then make a body mold of him and
- produce hundreds of copies of a paper mache jesus. jesus then wakes up in a giant pit full of them
- and violently tries to break them all before breaking down and crying trying to put 1 back to gether
- a reenactment of a war with 100s of frogs in costumes and then they all get blown up in a miniature town
- a museum/art show where each work of art is a live model on stand completely naked and covered in paint where painters walk around with paint brushes painting their private parts. all models in this scene are wearing boxes over their heads.

fuck i wish i could remember the name of this movie
