This is so fucking funny. I clicked on JessicaJung's stream then I click on an ad, just for the lols, I found a website who are selling techniques and stuff on how to improve one's self in starcraft 2. I mean this would be okay if they had players with okay reputation but come on..

Who the hell promises you that you'd be a professional gamer in a few days just because you read their freaking strategy guide. If they had the credentials to do it then fine, that's pretty okay to teach and get paid if you're like gosucoaching or other high level players but come on. Who the hell are you guys?

These are type of people whom Kennigit was talking about, capitalist bullshit motherfuckers who think they ka-ching on us gamers. Like lol, we have teamliquid and other website who would give free strategies (high level of course) and some high level players posting in here.

I dunno, just lol'ed for the moment when I saw the website but after reading through the wall of text just made me rage thinking that they're gonna profit some shit.

What a bunch of douches...

Btw, this has nothing to do with JessicaJung, there's the usual Livestream ads that you can click on and it wasn't an advertisement from Jessica.

Thanks for the futurama streams jess, Loved it!

whatever, if anyone is stupid enough to pay them for that crap, they deserve to be exploited I mean they aren't doing anything wrong besides exaggerated advertising... they are providing a service (albeit a shitty one)

Let's just keep this blog as a warning so everyone will know that high level strategies are free here in our beloved website..

I think that's what I found as well Buti

This isn't a dig at teamliquid, but the 95% of the strategies and discussion in the sc2 strat forums is very far from high level... In fact i'd say reading everything in that forum as fact is detrimental to your progress as a player

errr... this whole discussion hinges on where you draw the line for "high level"

If you're going to consider GosuCoaching.com "high level," you're going to have to consider JessicaJung and all mid-high diamond players "high level"

Fact of the matter is, people know these players aren't real "professionals" so the majority of people understand what they are paying for.

Copy/paste liquipedia and TL guides. Make it a paying site. Make fake testimonies on the home page "This guide is great, I read it in one afternoon and got on top of my division after a few days".
Out of the 10 millions people who are gonna buy the game at least 3000 are gonna pay for your content. If you make it 20$, you can make 60 000$ ez. As Cambium said, they just take advantage of people stupidity, just like the spammers who sell viagra or w/e, you're thinking who would be retarded enough to trust them and purchase, but even if 0.01% of the hundreds of millions people who are receiving these offers, they still make a shitload of money.

edit : I just remember seeing an ad saying they can make you a Farmville pro for 40$ (LOL), so when I said 20 * 3000 I guess I really underestimated the money you can make.
Btw I discovered the TL behind the curtain thread, and when Mani asked for 1 million dollars, even If he intended to make a reference to Austin Powers, I think TL is worth a lot more ! That what makes TL so great !

Can I make a quick comment?

I'm not trying to say what you're saying is wrong, and in some instances the people who are making those sites do not have the right knowledge to teach.

However, take a moment to think of it this way.

Do top players in sports, business and finance 'teach' lowbies?

Of course, some do, but in the majority of sense - the top players in an institution or industry are too busy contributing to that industry and being the top dog, to teach others.

A really good quote, has always stuck with me:

"Teachers, teach because they are not good enough to perform at top levels in what they are teaching".

I have several friends who Theorycraft beautifully, but never really perform. They would make great teachers!

---

As for the free stuff on Team Liquid;

I also agree that an interested player can and will improve his game by reading the material here; but recall that people learn in many different fashions.

Audio, visual, hands-on...IMO Team Liquid does provide all three, but mostly visual through the art of reading and writing.

Endorsements and community credibility is important, but often times a product should stand for itself. If a business entity provides a valid and actually helpful training program for students, why does it have to be shunned just because it doesn't have a direct involvement from an already pro-player?

In my opinion it is very silly.. I think their target audience is like a soccer mom or something..no serious person is going to "get help" from bad players (im guessing)

Gosucoaching has atleast some decent players (inKa, Machine, LZ, Incontrol)

Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach gym class.

The old cliche. This really bothers me especially in Canada. I took a class in Physical Activity Interventions as an elective years ago and I must say that statement is so backwards. If anything our Gym classes are anything but P.E. because the administrators don't know how to organize the class properly. It's pathetic.

My "physical education teacher" had super muscular upper body and tiny legs.

It was hilarious.
