I think DUI is punished way differently depending on the state. I'm from Rhode Island and DUIs are a huge deal there. Then I moved out here and my roommate (he's from Nebraska) tells me all about his brother who has just gotten his 4th DUI and gets away with community service and slap on the wrist.

I absolutely think your guy got off easy. I dunno much about the guy, but that punishment is maybe stiff enough for him to make a change. Everyone is different though... I'd be willing to bet that people who get DUIs while driving with a DUI-revoked license are slow learners.

Is that a Civic or Accord? Hard to tell at this angle, I'd guess Civic. It's nice!

ouch man, sux to get hit by a car...BUT sweet ride there, i believe its a Civic, i hope you didnt get hurt TOO bad, and lol I also have my, left, collarbone sticking out and visible through a shirt (skateboarding injury...missed by 1 step goddamn it (14 steps)) hope for the best and enjoy rollin in that Civic

That's a huge punishment compared to what he could have gotten in some other countrys.. He propably didn't do it on purpose anyways.
If you can still use your hands properly, you should be fine. Think positive, you propably wouldn't gotten car for a long time without him.

i've always been one of the firm believers that dui should be treated the same as attempted murder, because how is it not, really

people in this town get in 0 trouble for it until they do it a ton of times and even then it's not bad, i always hope they'll only kill themselves but it never works out that way

man looks pretty serious, can you move your shoulder properly with a clavicle like that?
Anyways, hopefully he'll learn from this. I dont think there are many people who are able to just ignore a serious accident like that, I'm sure he was shocked too. So try not to be too grudgeful, more punishment for him isn't gonna help you (unless it means money for you ^^)
Then again, he really must be a complete fucking moron.

I hope you'll be able to have a successful shoulder surgery eventually. My brother had one some months ago, after he had broken his clavicle. It all worked out very well.

not that bad BUT its still noticable...nowhere near as much though...i can get it up to an inch or so but its usually around half an inch

TBH, I think you should be happy about not having to undergo surgery - it is far from without risk and as far as I can tell, it looks to be only a cosmetic problem.

He should never be allowed inside a fucking car again. Put him in the ol' county jail for a few years aswell as paying you the fucking surgery seemes "fair" to me.

I think drunk driving is really stupid, and they deserve more severe punishments. Not only do you put yourself in danger (which if fine), you put those around you in a similar position because you are too cheap to pay for a cab or too dumb to know DUI is a stupid idea.
